<^^0386 Miss Willcox Showered At Bridge Club Members of the bridge club of Mrs. Bill Lamont honored her granddaughter. Miss Mary Will cox, September bride-elect on Thursday evening of last week. All club members, Mrs. Palmer Will cox, and Mrs. Carlton Niven, guests, met at the home of Mrs. W.L. Howell. Guests were seated at the dining room table, centered with an arrangement of roses, and at a table in the living room, where they were served homemade ice cream and brownies. After refreshments Miss Willcox was showered with gifts from those present. The club traditionally honors each bride-elect of a member of the club at a bridal shower. Miss Willcox is the first grandchild to be engaged and the tradition con tinued to the next generation. Mrs. Niven was high scorer and Mrs. T.B. Lester, club high scorer, at the conclusion of the bridge game following the shower. Bridge Mrs. Johnson Mrs. June Johnson was hostess to her bridge club on Tuesday evening of last week. Guests were served pie and iced tea upon arrival from a table centered with varicolored summer flowers in a miniature crystal epergne. During play an assort ment of candy and chips were served. Mrs. Irwin Hubbard was pre sented the high score prize. Austins Entertain Club Saturday Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Austin enter tained the members of the Couple's Club at their home on Saturday evening. All members were present. At the end of the game prizes went to Mrs. W.T. Gibson and Charlie Morrison, ladies and men, high scorers, respectively. iy) Births Mr. and Mrs. Roger Frierson announce the birth of a daughter, Makwaata Janet, on July 29, at Moore Memorial Hospital. Each Tuesday During August Unodvertised Specials Whites Honored On Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Dick White were honored on their silver wedding anniversary at a surprise reception and dinner upon their arrival in Bucyrus, Ohio, on Thursday even ing of last week. They had gone to Ohio, accom panied by their daughter, Mrs. Cathy James, their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Michael White, for a visit with relatives. After arriving at the home of Mr. White's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Donald White, they were entertained at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Smith. Members of the family gathered for the occa sion. After an abundant dinner they were again surprised with a wedding cake made by their niece, Mrs. Cathy Nafzinzer. The honored guests were presented a silver cheese dish with an attached silver knife and a dome crystal lid. Dinner Parly Honors Couple Beth Gillis and David Willis were honored with a dinner party on Friday night at the Officers Club at Pope Air Force Base. After a steak dinner and danc ing, the honored couple was con gratulated by the group. Hostesses for the occasion were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Costantino, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNeill and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Newton. MclnnisClan Have 55th Meet Approximately 150 members and friends of the Mclnnis Clan gathered at Dundarrach Presby terian Church Sunday, 15 Aug. 82. This was the 55th meeting of the Clan. Lt. Col. Ret. William Speight of Hope Mills. N.C. was guest speaker. He also sang a solo, "How Great Thou Art." The following officers were elected for 1983. President, Angus Mclnnis; Vice President - Smith Mclnnis; Sec. & Treas. - Evelyn McB. McKeithan. After the program was finished, a bountiful picnic lunch was served under the shade of the trees. Clan members attending were from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina. Georgia. Florida and Saudia Arabia. The Clan will meet next year same time and same place. Mr. and Mrs. Ebb Barrington of Pittsboro visited his mother, Mrs. Helen S. Barrington and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Byrd on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Graham Monroe, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Monroe and William of Garner spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Zan Monroe and family in New Bern.
