The announcement, made last week, says the Robbins and Aber deen papers have a combined circulation of about 7,500. Congressman Rose said "Our volunteer fire and rescue squads are doing a tremendous job, but when the 5% interest rate was eliminated in 1981, they were unable to procure the necessary equipment to do their jobs to the best of their abilities." "We depend on the members of the volunteer fire and rescue squads very heavily," Mr. Rose said, "And 1 think it is extremely important that we provide build ings and equipment to those who so willingly volunteer their time to make North Carolina a safe and healthy place in which to live." The Consolidated Farm and Rural Development Act passed the House of Representatives on Sep tember 9, 1982, by a vote of 372-39. Rose's amendment will make 5% interest rate loans available for volunteer firefighting, emergency transportation, or rescue services, in those communities where the median family income of persons to be served by the facility is below 80% of the statewide nonmetro politan median family income. A bill will now go to the Senate for further action. Revival October 4-8 Solid Rock Holiness Church of Raeford will hold its Fall Revival October 4-8.
