Mrs. Carlton Niven, Social Reporter, S75-37S5 Southern Couple Celebrates 30th Anniversary Lester Southern and Yvonne Hairell were hosts at an open house in honor the thirtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Southern Sunday, Sept. 26 from 3 til 5 o'clock at their home on Teal DriVfe. Mr. Southern and Ms. Harrell greeted guests in the living room and invited them into the den for refreshments. The refreshment table was covered with a white linen cloth edged in lace. A red and white arrangement of carnations centered the table. The three tiered wedding cake was served by Mrs. Joe Holt and Mrs. Tim Hawkes. Mrs. James Parker and Mrs. Edith Best poured punch. Mrs. Polly Clark assisted in serving. Dainty sandwiches, cheese straws, glazed nuts and nutty fingers were also served. Mandy and Lesley Harrell served as tea girls. 75 guests called during the afternoon. Personal Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Peele on Sunday, other than Mike and Beth, were Mr. and Mrs. Wade Terry and Mrs. Ruby Hol comb of Laurinburg, Delaine Peck ham of Chapel Hill, Mr. and Mrs. David Scull and Randy, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Peele and children, Steve and Leah all of Raeford. Mrs. Senter Mrs. Neil Senter was hostess to her duplicate bridge club on Tues day of last week. Members and three visitors, Mrs. Neill McFadyen, Jr. Mrs. R.A. Matheson and Mrs. T. B. Lester gathered at 10:30 and were served lunch at noon, after which the game continued. Mrs. McFadyen was the reci pient of the high score prize. Education Dept. Meets Tuesday With Mrs. Senter NFWC, Education Department of the Raeford Womans Club met at the home of Mrs. Neil Senter on Tuesday evening of last week with Mrs. Benny McLeod and Mrs. Fay Jordan as co-hostesses. Mrs. Neill A. McDonald, Jr. presented the program on her recent trip to Italy. She showed slides of Italy and other European countries she visited. Her very informative presentation was en joyed by all. Mrs. Neill McFadyen, president, presided over the business meeting, during which time Ways & Means projects was one item of business discussed. Punch, cake squares and nuts were served at the end of the meeting. MissThacker And Mr. Moore* United In Holy Matrimony Miss Kimberly Sue Thacker of Raeford and Michael Eugene Moore of Satellite Beach, Florida, were united in marriage at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, at Galatia Presbyterian Church. The Rev. David H. Sutton officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Master Sergeant (Retired) and Mrs. Gene Paul Thacker of Rae ford. The groom is the son of LTC (Retired) and Mrs. Grover Paul Moore, Jr. of Satellite Beach, Florida. A program of wedding music included "The Wedding Song" and "That's the Way" by Lester Sutherland, soloist, and Nancy Brady, organist. The church altar was decorated by Brock's Florist with an archway of fourteen candles with two floor baskets of sonia shasta daisies, sonia gerber daisies, sonia roses, miniature cream carnations, white snapdragons, white gladiolus, wine rover daisies, bronze spider palms, baby's breath, springari fern and tree fern. Two seven branched candelabra flanked the baskets of flowers. Two wedding palms and four ferns were also used, and two smaller arrangements of flowers were placed on each side in front of the altar. The unity candle was enterwoven with ivy. The pews were marked by a long stemmed sonia rose, baby's breath, shasta daisies and satin and lace bows. The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Her formal gown was of white organza, chantilly and silk Venice lace. The fitted bodice was trimmed in beruffled Chantilly lace with beaded silk Venice lace de signed with a Queen Ann neckline. The sleeves were of Chantilly lace, and the a-line skirt was adorned with an apron-like panel, also trimmed in Chantilly lace. Her headpiece was a chapel length illusion veil, edged with Chantilly lace and small embroidered roses throughout. She carried a cascade bouquet of silk sonia roses, lily of the valley, varigated ivy, sonia baby's breath and sonia daisies intertwined with sonia lace and satin streamers tied with love knots of lily of the valley. Miss Donna Lea Swain Thacker, adopted sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. She wore an apricot gown of Quiana Knit with a jacket overlay of chiffon with long sleeves and stand up collar in lace. Her headpiece was a halo of miniature sonia flowers. She car ried a fireside basket of silk sonia roses, daisies, baby's breath with angel lace streamers. Bridemaids were Miss Jeri Moore, sister of the groom, of Satellite Beach and Mrs. Ann MacDonald O'Annunizo of Fay etteville. They wore gowns of peach, designed identical to the maid of honor's, and carried fireside baskets filled with flowers, same as the maid of honor. Miss Mackenzie Moore, niece of the groom, served as flower girl. She wore a formal gown of apricot with an ivory overlay and trimmed in ivory lace. Her headpiece was also a halo of miniature flowers. She carried a basket of mixed sonia flowers, centered with rose petals A Mrs. Michael Eugene Moore which she dropped as she walked down the aisle. The mother of the bride wore a mauve color Quiana knit and chiffon gown with a white orchid corsage. The mother of the groom wore a mint green gown of Quiana knit and chiffon and a white orchid corsage . Don Dupont of Raleigh served as best man. Ushers were Scott Moore, brother of the groom. Satellite Beach, Tony and Tim Thacker, brothers of the bride of Raeford. Master Brian Stec, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Stec of Rae ford, served as ring bearer. After the ceremony the bride and groom each gave their mother-in law a long stemmed rose and a kiss as they left the altar. Miss Betty Lambert of South Carolina presided at the bride's book, and the wedding was di rected by Mrs. Dianne Stec. After a wedding trip to the mountains of North Carolina and the World's Fair, the couple will return to reside in Raeford. The bride is a graduate of Hoke High, attended Sandhills Com munity College, Appalachian State University, and graduated from Tech College of Alamance as a Dental Assistant. The groom is a graduate of Satellite High, and Mid-Florida Technical. He has served three years in the U.S. Army and has been employed as a subcontractor. RECEPTION Following the ceremony the bride's parents hosted the reception at Nashville Station II Lounge in ft Fayetteville. A After the bride and groom haa cut the five-tiered wedding cake, topped with a replica miniature of the bride and groom and made by the best man's mother, Mrs. Dupont of Florida, cake was served to the guests. Champagne punch was served from a fountain placed at one end of the table, centered with a five branched silver candelabra, and a large arrange ment of mixed flowers at the oth0) end of the table. Guests served themselves to a large variety of finger foods and hors'deurves. Mrs. Kay Thompson and Mrs. Panda Rowland of Raeford assisted in serving. A gift table was set up and centered with a smaller arrange ment of mixed flowers. Music was provided during tte. event by Dale Stec. w AFTER REHEARSAL DINNER On Friday evening an after rehearsal dinner was given by the groom's parents at the Fort Bragg Officers Club. Cocktails were served, followed by a prime rib dinner with accessories. Birthday Michelle Rozier Michelle Rozier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Rozier celebrates her third birthday on Sunday, tober 10, 1982. Many of her relatives and friends were invited for cake and ice cream. The children played outside games and were given balloons, gum and candy as favors.
