Volunteers Honored Membership campaign volun teers for the North Carolina Mu seum of History Associates were honored during their 1982 Mem bership Campaign at an Executive Mansion luncheon given by Mrs. James B. Hunt, Jr. on October 13. The Museum Associates is a 5, 000- member statewide support group for the North Carolina Museum of History and 23 state historic sites. Among the honorees at the luncheon were members of the Associates Hoke County commit tee: Mrs. Charles Hostetler. Mrs. Julius Jordan, Mrs. Bob Townsend, Mrs. Tommie Upchurch, Mrs. Neil Senter. More than 275 volunteers from across the state were greeted at the Mansion by Mrs. Hunt. Associates President Mrs. John L. Lundy was struck by a bicycle Thursday on West El wood Avenue right after she stepped out of Lundy's Shoe Shop on that street, aad was treated by a local doctor at his office for cuts and bruises, Raeford Police Chief Leonard Wiggins re ported. Wiggins said the bicycle was being operated by Billy Joe Jacobs. 16, of Box 144, Raeford. Wiggins said he would try to hare signs posted prohibiting oper ating of bicycles oo city sidewalks, to help prevent such accidents from happening. Gloria Baker Grosskopf Coen of 606 Green St. reported October 12 her bicycle valued at $70 stolen from her property. The bicycle was found later in Bobbins Heights near the ball park. Simon Peter Adams, 510 W. Sixth Ave., reported Thursday someone broke into Mt. Sinai Church on Saunders Street and stole a microphone, amplifier, and speakers worth a total of S695. ?? ? ? axme' Joseph Keller Hopkins of Mid South Vending Co. reported Thurs day someone stole a money bag containing 5175 from his truck while it was parked at the House of Raeford. Hopkins had stopped there to make a delivery, and when he returned to his truck he found the bag missing from under the seat where he had put it. The battery was stolen from a vehicle owned by Helen Slate. Rt. 1. Red Springs. Saturday while it was parked behind the Hoke County Health Center on East Central Avenue. The battery was worth $53. The program will begin at 8:15 p.m. in Wright Auditorium and is free and open to the public. Julie Frazier, Joan Frazier and Robbie Shook, all of Raeford. are student members of The ECU Choir. Dr. Persichetti was scheduled to conduct the ensemble at this event, but will be unable to attend because of illness. Conductors will be two School of Music faculty members. Herbert Carter.
