Red Springs, has been promoted in the U.S. Air Force to the rank of senior airman. Fvans is a security specialist at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., with t he 341st Munitions Service Squadron. Bratcher Promoted ^ James L. Bratcher. son of John and L.udian Bratcher of 320 Saint Paul Drive, Raeford. has been promoted in the U.S. Army to the rank of sergeant first class. Bratcher is a journalist at Fort George G. Meade. Md. He is a 1968 graduate of Up church High School. Raeford David McCrimmon t D. McCrimmon Graduated Fri. Army PFC David McCrimmon, 18, son of John McCrimition of Bowmore, graduated at Ft. Dix, N.J.. Friday from basic training in communications. He reported for duty later at Ft. Gordon, Ga. McCrimmon is a 1982 graduate of Hoke County High School. He ) enlisted in the Army on September 10. 4 by Julie Riley Clnb Reporter Several members of the Hillcrest 4'H Club attended a County Coun cil Organjzational Meeting at the Lester Building on November 10. After a hot dog sugger, we saw a slide show telling what a County Council is, and how it can work to help us in our individual clubs. This was followed by group discus sion. Some comments were: -Mike Jones said that it would help 4-H in Hoke County to get off to a good start. ? Keisha Carpenter said she thought it would be very helpful and make 4-H in Hoke County grow. _ --John Parks said he thought it would help the town of Raeford and that we could all work together and make our county better. All clubs represented voted to 4-H News have a Hoke County 4-H County Council. They also voted to have a county entry in the Raeford Merchant's Annual Christmas Parade in De cember, 1982. The committee appointed will meet later this month to determine what the entry will be. On November 15, the Hillcrest 4-H Club held their regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Lester Building. Ronda Tatum opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. Business discussed included the 1982-83 State Project (Safety), a Community Service Project (Lung Association), a club extra (a lock in), and an agenda for our club for this year was planned (through September, 1983). A membership contest is under way. with prizes for the 4-H'ers bringing the most new guests to meetings prior to June 1, 1983.
