McMillan Couple Honored On Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McMillan. Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McMil lan. Sr. celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary with a sur prise anniversary dinner given by their children, Sharon McMillan of the home. Mr. and Mrs. Preston McMillan of New Hope, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Prentis McMillan ot Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. James Shower Honors Mrs. McNeill A floating baby shower honoring Mrs. Neal McNeill, the former Miriam Ropp. was given on Thurs day evening. November 18, at the home of Mrs. Bobby McBryde. Guests dropped in between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Mrs. McBryde presented the honoree with a silk baby's breath corsage adorned with two small baby dolls. She also presented Mrs. McNeill with a baby carrier and a papier-mache' clown from the Mc Bryde's recent trip to Cozumel. Mexico. The mother-to-be received guests in the living room and gifts were displayed in the den. Refreshments of punch, sand wiches. mints, cheese straws, nuts and cake squares were served to 35 guests from the dining room. Lewis, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Alexander McMillan of Greensboro, Kathy Ray of Nashville, Tenn., Randy McMillan of Ft. Polk, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Ross of Southern Pines. The dinner was at die home of Mr. and Mrs. McMillan Sr. The children also presented them with a washing machine, other gifts were given too. Mrs. McMillan wore a white carnation corsage and Mr. McMil lan wore a white boutonneire. A blue and white arrangement of carnations centered the table with a wedding cake. A full course meal was served. Approximately 25 guests called during the evening. The couple was married Nov. 20. 1949. Bake Sale Planned For Lung Assn. The Hoke Chapter of the Mid Lung Association will sponsor a bake sale on Friday. December 3. beginning at 9 a.m. at three locations in Raeford: in front of Moore's Department Store. Edenborough Shopping Center; in front of Sky City. Hoke- Raeford Village shopping center; and in front of the Valu Mart, Main Street. Funds from the bake sale will go to McCain and Hoke County Schools to be used in the battle against chronic lung diseases. Anyone who would like to par ticipate by donating baked goods, canned goods or handmade items for sale may contact any of the following directors of Hoke County: Mrs. Harold Brady. Mrs. Dick Neeley. Ralph Hurt. Ken Wither spoon and Harold Stone. Bridge Mrs. Matheson On Wednesday afternoon of last week Mrs. R.A. Matheson was hostess to the members of her bridge club. A dessert course was enjoyed before the game. At the conclusion high score prize was awarded to Mrs. Colon Scarborough. Mrs. Johnson Members and three visitors. Mrs. A.R. FitzSimons, Mrs. Paul Johnson and Mrs. Earl Gordon, met at the home of Mrs. June Johnson on Tuesday evening of last week. Russian tea and assorted refresh ments were served by the hostess during the game. High score prizes went to Mrs. Pete Sawyer for members and to Mrs. Gordon for visitors. Mrs. Barnhart Mrs. Ralph Barnhart was hostess to the members of the duplicate bridge club on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. T.B. Lester. Mrs. Chandler Roberts and Mrs. R.A. Matheson were visitors. After several progressions lunch was served, and bridge continued till early afternoon. Mrs. Neil Senter and Mrs. Barnhart tied for high score. Mrs. McFadyen Mrs. Neill McFadyen enter tained the members of the Book Bridge Club on Thursday afternoon of last week. Mrs. Claude Bishop of Golds boro and Mrs. William Lamont were the only visitors. Centerpieces in the Thanksgiving motif decorated the tables for the dessert course served before the game. Mrs. Neill A. McDonald was the recipient of the high score prize, and both visitors were remembered with gifts. Mrs. Connell Mrs. Avery Connell was hostess to her bridge club on Thursday evening of last week. All members were present and enjoyed a dessert course before the game. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Bennie Kelly, high score; Mrs. Martin Webb, low score and Mrs. June Johnson, bingo. Personals Mrs. Claude Bishop of Goldsboro visited in the home of her sister. Mrs. Neill A. McDonald, last week. Holiday visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. McPhaul will be Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gay and family of Winston-Salem, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill McPhaul and family of Buena Vista, Virginia. Mrs. Clyde Teal will be joined for the holidays by her daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Walker of Durham, Mr. and Mrs. John Harris. John Jr.. Christy and Michael of Kinston. and Miss Linda Kay Teal, grad uate student at UNC law school at Chapel Hill.
