Evening Classes Open
At Pembroke State Univ .
Forty-two late afternoon and
evening courses will be offered
through Pembroke State Universi
ty's Evening College program in
the spring semester. Classes will
meet at 5, 6, 6:25, and 7:50 p.m.
Evening college students will
register Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 6-7
p.m. in PSU's Sampson Hall for
the spring semester. Classes begin
Jan. 4.

Faberge Gives To
Reading Tutors
In recognition for volunteer
tutoring, 23 HOSTS were given J
gifts from Faberge on Monday.
Dr. Lenwood Simpson, prin
cipal of Hoke County High
School, distributed the gifts.
This group's name, HOSTS,
stands for Help Our Students To
Succeed and ik .under the sponsor
ship of Mrs. Pat JohtWon, ECIA
Chapter I Reading instructor.
Through the generosity of
Faberge, these girls were recogniz- ^
ed for giving their time and skills 1
to help underclass students with
academic courses.
At present 45 students are
benefitting from this one-on-one
help program. This is the second
year the program has been used
and is proving to be very suc
cessful.

HOSTS regular business meeting ^
as "Tutor Of The Month."
"MANNED" TREE - This Christmas tree, "manned" by gingerbread
cookie men, stands in the Hoke County Children's Center. Some of the
men look incomplete because somebody ate a leg off here and there.
