The * proceeds were real good and will go toward paving the driveway to the church. Pittman Grove Baptist Church will have their annual Valentine party Saturday evening February 1 3th beginning at 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The party includes all the mar ried couples in the church from the youngest to the oldest and all look forward to having a good time. Sympathy is extended to the relatives of Miss Mabel Powell of the Wayside Community who died Sunday January 30th and was huried February 1st in Richmond. Virginia. She was a sister to the late Mrs. John H. Plummer. She was formerly from Richmond but had made her home here for the past : year. Mrs. Lowell Harris, Mrs. Albert Parsons and Mrs. Lawrence Bar nard had lunch together at Mor risons Cafeteria at Cross Creek Mall last Saturday. Sympathy is extended to the family of Edwin D. (Eddie) Newton, Jr who was killed early Sunday morning in a three car col lision on 401 near the fish hat chery. Funeral was Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at Galatia Presbyterian Church, officiated by Dr. David Sutton, church pastor. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Jimmy Sakobie and children. Owner, Paul Johnson and the Radford Post Office are pleased with the installa tion of this unit. The indivudual boxes are similiar to post office boxes and give added security to the customers mail. The structure used to house the units is attractively designed to blend with the appearance of this well-kept mobile home park. It is through the cooperative efforts of customers and the Postal Service in the implementa tion of innovative programs such as this that improved services can be provided at lost cost, post office officials Foundation Offers Dogwood Trees The National Arbor Day Foun dation is giving three free White Flowering Dogwood trees to new Foundation members joining dur ing February, 1983. The free trees, which are part of the Foundation's efforts to pro mote tree planting throughout America, will be shipped at the ap propriate time for planting this spring. Dogwood trees were chosen for this campaign because of their year-round beauty, according to the Foundation. The National Arbor Day Foun dation, a nonprofit organization, is working to improve the quality of life throughout the country by encouraging tree planting. The Foundation will give three Flower ing Dogwood trees to new members contributing $10 or more during February. The trees will be 3-4 ft. tall and will be sent postage paid with enclosed planting instructions. They are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced free by the Foundation.
