McNair Cleaners Southern National Bank Heilife-Meyers Raeford Cleaners and Launderers Auto Parts and Equipment Nationwide Insurance West Hoke Auxiliary Holds First Meeting On Friday, January 29, the first organizational meeting was held for the West Hoke Volunteer Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. ( Thirteen ladies from the West Hoke community came out to show their interest and support. Discussion was held concerning the organization and purpose for the Auxiliary, which is being form ed to aid the Volunteer Fire Department and the citizens of the West Hoke community and sur rounding areas. The meeting was led by Mrs. Debbie Norton, who is enthusiastic about supporting the volunteer fire department program. Mrs. Norton's home was burned in 1979 and the West Hoke Fire Department was the primary responder to the fire and is credited with saving the structure. A second organizational meeting will be held Friday, February 1 1 , at 7:30 p.m. at the West Hoke Fire Department building on rural road 1203. Officers will be elected and plans will be made for a fund raising project. All interested ladies please come out. Also, there will be volunteer firemen present to meet with any men who are interested in volunteering on the department. Pastor Appreciation 1 Celebated At Daniels The church of Daniels Temple Revival Inc. celebrated the 14th annual pastor's appreciation ser vice recently at the church. The church is located off Hwy. 1302 in the Tylertown section of Raeford. Upon arrival, the pastor, Eldress | Pauline Daniels, was escorted into the main sanctuary by Deacon Curtis Little. At this point, she was presented a fresh bouquet of long stemmed American Beauty roses. The pastor was outwardly at tired by a pastor's robe, given as a gift from eht members on behalf of the Pastor's Aide Committee. Although words could never amply express the deep apprecia tion the members have for pastor ( Pauline Daniels, a special thank you goes to each committee worker, officer, sponsors and member who made this annual celebration a success. 1 library News NEW BOOKS AT LIBRARY The following is a list of new books received this week at Hoke County Public Library, a member of the Sandhill Regional Library System.
