The contestants will be judged on poise, personality, appearance, evening gown competition, and an interview with the judges. Judging the participants will be Mrs. Florence Ransom of Pembroke. Ruth Davis of Fayettevilk, and Betty Ambrose of Fayetteville. The pageant will be emceed by Charlie Parsons and entertainment will be provided by members of the Hoke High Chorus and Chorale. The contestants include: Christy Nichols, Tammie Hendrix, Trade Newkirk, Teresa Schwarcbher, Angela Hunt, Rhonda Blanks, Lisa Madden, Wanda Taylor, Angela McP hatter, Lisa Jacobs, Donna Maxwell, Melody William son, Deborah Goodman, Kim Bounds, Cheryl Farmer, Kim Parker, Carta Myers, Sehna San chez, and Tammy Harrell. Admission will be $2.00 per per son. The proceeds from the 4 pageant are used to help pay for expenses in publishing the year book. READING ENRICHMENT PROGRAM-These students are attending the Reading Enrichment Program spon sored by Burlington Mills for its employees' children and grandchildren. Out of the 60 children attending the classes, these /i>r have advanced to the Speed Reading Course developed for those who have best mastered phonics, vocabulary and reading skills. Flood, assistant superintendent of the North Carolina Department of Public In struction, will be the guest speaker at the Hoke High School Mock Graduation on Thursday, February 17 at 10 a.m. in the Mac Donald Gvm. Dr. Lenwood Simpson, prin cipal, will preside at the jpinual program to honor seniors who at this point in their high school career are meeting graduation re quirements. Etnmanual Baldwin, Junior class president, will give the in vocation. Choral Music will be provided by the Hoke High Chorus and Chorale. Assistant Principals, Harold Livingston and Loche MacDonald will present Mock Graduation certificates. Approximately 230 seniors will , take part in the program. Students carrying IS or more hours must earn a 3.2 average with no grade less than B. Raeford Students Named To NC State Fall Dean's List Two Hoke County were among 2,118 students who earned Dean's List honors during the fall semester ' at North Carolina State University. Robert W. Moses, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Moses of Raeford, maintained a perfect "A" record in civil engineering. Randy D. Ashburn, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Ashburn of 218 Wright Street in Raeford. had a "B" average or better also in civil engineering. . Students from 94 North Carolina counties. 30 other states outside of North Carolina, and 19 foreign countries were among the students to achieve the honor. To make the Dean's List, stu dents must earn an academic average of 3.25 or higher if they are carrying IS or more hours, or 3.5 or better if they are carrying 12 to 14 hours. | Chancellor Bruce R.
