Frye of Raeford were united in marriage Saturday, January 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the MacPherson Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville. Dr. John Y. Todd III officiated at the double ring ceremony. The church was decorated with two seven-tiered candelabrum and one large floral bouquet. A program of wedding music was presented by organist James R. Creech. Songs included "Now Thank We All Our God," "God of Our Father,", "Purcel Trumpet Tunes One and Two" and "The Wedding March." The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white gown of chif fon and chantilly lace with a fitted bodice that had a sheer lace yoke and a lace mandarin collar. The front bodice was decorated with pearls of lace and had a pinnefore design outlined with chantilly lace ruffles. The waistline was accented with re-embroidered chantilly lace. The gown also featured a drop waist at the back. The sheer fitted sleeves were appliqued with re embroidered chantilly motifs. The back and sides of the gown were of an apron effect that cascaded from the waist to the hem with a flat and ruffled chantilly hem edged in ruf fled chantilly semi-cathedral train. The bride wore a camelot cap covered with chantilly lace and dotted with pearls. The double tiered fingertip veil was pencil edged in scallop designs and chan tilly lace motifs. She carried a large bouquet of white and wine col onial carnations, poms and babys breath. Miss Wanda Carter served as maid of honor during the ceremony. She wore a dark wine gown with a tiered skirt of sheer polyester knit lined in taffeta. The gown featured double-puffed sleeves a scooped front and back neckline with ruffled flounce trim. She carried a bouquet of flowers identical to the bride's. Miss Barbara Cobb, cousin of the bride, of New York and Miss Annette Nance, cousin of the bride, of St. Pauls attended as bridesmaids. Charles Cobb, cousin of the groom, of New York and Brent Hardin of Raeford at tended as ushers. The bride's mother wore a mist mauve gown of polyester knit with sheer nylon lace sleeves. The groom's mother wore a mauve gown of polyester chiffon with an under slip of taffeta. The gown featured bishop sleeves with snap close lace cuffs. Following the ceremony, the groom's parents hosted a reception in the church fellowship hall. The bride and groom's parents were at the receiving line during the reception. Mrs. Lisa Ellis of Lumber Bridge kept the bride's book while Mrs. Anne Hardin of Raeford served the wedding cake. Mrs. Madeline Cobb and Mrs. Mecon Line of New York, aunts of the groom, also assisted wjth the reception. The bride is a senior at Hoke High School. The groom is a graduate from Robeson Country Day School in Red Springs and is presently employed with McCain Correctional Center in McCain. Following a wedding trip, the couple will reside in Raeford. Raeford Jumorettes Honor New Members On Monday night, February 6. the Raeford Juniorettes held a Spaghetti Dinner in honor of its new members. The dinner was held at the home of Carmen Fowler. The new members were welcomed by Juniorette President, Melody Williams. After dinner speaker was Mrs. Robert Britt, President of the Junior Woman's Club, which sponsors the club. The old members then performed the can dle lighting induction service. The Juniorettes have many ten tative plans such as "Singing Valentines" which they sponsor each year. "Singing Valentines" will be $2.00 in town and $4.00 out of the city area. The Juniorettes are presently working with the resthomes on an "Adopt A Friend" program.
