Starting the second 25 years
These Raeford Kiwanis leaders stopped for a photograph during
Silver Anniversary activities in 1949. That evening the club dined on
baked ham and honored the club's first president J.M. Stackhouse
and his wife, along with other charter members R.B. Lewis. H alter P.

Gaining recognition
Hoke County leaders dressed up in 1961 for the county's Ciolden Jubilee.
These leaders are getting recognition for the event from X'orth Carolina
Gov. Terry Sanford. Those attending the meeting with the governor are
from left: former state Rep. Seill L. McFadyen, former state Senator J.
Benton Thomas, former state Rep. Harry Greene, Gov. Sanford, former
school Superintendent K.A. MacDonald, newspaperman Sam C. Morris
and Paul Dickson Jr. McFadyen h as the 1982 Kiwanis Citizen of the
Year. Greene received the honor in 1955, Dickson in 1953, MacDonald in
1957 and Morris in 1976. Thomas was a charter member of the Raeford
club, served as president in 1940 and as Kiwanis District Lt. Governor.
MacDonald was also president of the club in 1947.

CW, was recognized during 1967 Ladies Night festivities as the Citizen of

Honored for serving
KiwanUms Israel Mann (left) and Clyde Upchurch Jr. (right) display a
framed citation presented to Mann by the Cape Fear Area Scout Council
in January 1968. Both l/pchurch and Mann wear the Silver Beaver A wards
they received for working with the county's scouting program. Mann was
also named Citizen of the Year in 1961, and Upchurch received the honor
in 1963. Both men also served as president of the Roe ford Kiwanis Club.

Man of the Half-Century
R.B. Lewis (left) is presented with an award commemorating 50 years of ^
membership in the club during 1974 Golden Anniversary ceremonies. The
award was made by dub President Graham Pope. Lewis also received the
club's highest honor the Legion of Honor Award in 1969 and the Citizen
of the Year Award in I960. He served as president of Kiwanis in 1928.

the 1969 Citizen of the Year Award from Klwonlon BUI Moses.
Cameron served as president of the club In 1946 and continues to be
an active community leader. Moses was president of the Raeford
Klwanls Club In 1964.
