Cameron Heights Senior Citizens These residents took part in the Cameron Heights annual crafts and sewing exhibit that was displayed at the Cameron center last Wednesday. Approx imately 30 exhibits were shown. The best exhibits \ n will be displayed at the Sandhills Community Col lege. Members of the Bowmore Senior Citizens center displayed their crafts Thursday afternoon with the best exhibits also being shown at Sandhills. Rockfish News Attendance was good at Galatia Presbyterian Church the past Sun day morning for worship service. The sermon topic by Dr. David Sutton was; "Community and Communion" and Communion service was also held. Sgt. C.A. Price of the North Carolina Highway Patrol presented a program on "Driving and Drinking" Sunday night at the Men of the Church and the Youth Fellowship. Dr. David Sutton will be holding services at Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church Monday through Wednesday evening of this week. Tabernacle Church observed Communion during the morning worship service Sunday. Ap propriate music selections were rendered by the Jubilee Choir and soloists Mike Bundy and Miriam Barringer. Rev. Jimmy Dees filled the pulpit in the absence of Rev. Archie Barringer. The Bible Study Group (W.M.U. Morning Circle) met Tuesday morning at the home of Mrs. Alma Mallernee and the Mis sion Action Group (Evening Cir cle) met Tuesday evening with Mrs. Miriam Barringer. The Quarterly Church Con ference of Tabernacle Church was Wednesday night at the church. Tabernacle Church will sponsor an Agape Retreat Friday and Satur day at Camp Rockfish. Religious service will be held Friday night and all day Saturday. There will be Bible Study, Prayer and Medita tion in preparation for the upcom ing revival to be held April 9-15 with Rev. Kenny Wallace as guest speaker. There will also be some fishing and outdoor sports inter , mingled with the more serious aspect of the Retreat. Mrs. Alma Parker of Selma is visiting Mrs. Louise Watson and other relatives here. Congratulations to Karen English, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred English, and Pfc. Bryan Williams of Fort Bragg who were married Sunday at 5:30 at Taber nacle Church. Chaplain Archie Barringer officiated at the wed ding. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Fellowship Hall. Mrs. Grace English, accom panied by her daughter, Mrs. James Waller and grandson Kemp Waller of Fayetteville attended a dinner Saturday night at the Red Barn in Fayetteville. Mrs. Mary Benkosky and Mrs. Lawrence Barnard attended the monthly meeting of the Cumberland County Geneological Society meeting Tuesday evening March 27th in the Activity Room in Sears in Cross Creek Mall. Mrs. Boyce Falls, Social Reporter, 875-4562 Women of Church hold meet The ninety-fifth annual meeting of the Women of the Church of Fayetteville Presbytery convened at First Presbyterian Church, Rockingham, N.C., March 27-28. Mrs. J.R. McLester, Presbyterial president presided. Attending were 440 women and 10 guests. The Invocation was delivered on Tuesday evening and Wednes day morning by the Reverend W.W. Hatcher, Executive Presbyter of Fayetteville Presbytery. Miss Norma Under wood, as president of the WOC of the host church, welcomed the assembly. Inspiration speaker for both ses sions was Mrs. Silas M. Vaughn, director of the N.C. Presbyterian Women's Conference and Chairman-elect Synod's Ministry Group on Women. Her theme was "God's Promises are Beautiful." Special music was provided by the Chancel Choir. Mrs. Joseph Marley presented the offering objective, the Women's Prison Ministry in Raleigh. Mrs. A.A. Markley, Birthday interpreter, presented the 1984 Personals Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lynch and Amy, of Zebulon, Georgia, spent several days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Karshner. Mrs. Lois Tew, formerly of Raeford, is presently making her home in Lumberton at the Williamson Family Care Home at 1004 East First Street. Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Lucas and Mrs. Alma Joyce of Myrtle Beach visited Mr. and Mrs. Walter Thomas on Sunday. Mrs.' Julian Parks spent several days recently with her sister, Mrs. Brenda McNulty of Fayetteville. While there she attended a multiple sclerosis support group meeting. The Presbyterial council and guests were entertained at dinner at the home of Mrs. J.R. McLester, Rockingham, Tuesday evening by the women of the host church. A luncheon for the entire assembly was served at the church following the Wednesday session. First Presbyterian Church, Sanford, will host the 1985 annual meeting. Shower honors April bride-elect Mrs. Nell Averitt honored April 21 bride-clect Rebecca Peoples Stokes with a floating miscellaneous shower on Saturday, March 24th at the Averitt home on E. Donaldson Ave. Mrs. Florence Macko and daughter Mrs. Pat Prince were co-hostesses. Guests called between the hours of 2 and 4 O'clock. After gifts were opened and displayed .guests were invited into the dining room for refreshments. The dining table was covered with a white lace cloth and centered with a silver candelabra and an ar rangement of silk flowers. A white iced sheet cake decorated with wed ding bells was cut and served by Mrs. Pat Prince. Other refreshments included open-faced sandwiches, mints, nuts and punch. The honoree received a corsage or pink carnations with tiny white wedding bells and gifts of silver in her chosen pattern from the hostesses. Yard sale scheduled Members of the Raeford Precinct 4 will hold a yard sale Saturday at the Civic Center. The event will kickoff early and will run until noon. Proceeds will go to the Hoke County Democratic Party. Personal Edna S.
