were married March 27.
The ceremony was performed at
the Dillon wedding chapel.
Serving as maid of honor was
Mrs. Linda Hendrix of Raeford,
Ring bearer was Charles R. Hen
drix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie
Hendrix of Raeford.
The bride and groom are
presently residing in Raeford.
St. Mary Pentecostal Holiness Church held a program March 18 featuring
the Sunday School. Evangelist Willitte C. Jones was in charge of the pro
gram. A king and queen were selected to represent the Sunday School.
Chosen as king was Jamine Scott (left) and queen was Tothea Purcell
(right). Pastor Bishop of St. Mary's is George McKoy.

Tuesday, April 3, members of
her mother's circle at Aritioch
Presbyterian Church hosted a
salad luncheon for Miss Julie Gib
son, May 19 bride-elect. Miss Gib
son was presented with a daisy cor
sage and a gift of china from the
members. The luncheon was plan
ned by Miss Lucille McLeod, Mrs.
Dorothy Borroughs, Mrs. Josie
Hodgin and Miss Jeannette
McLauchlin.

The bride-elect, her mother and

Walter Gibson received guests in
the parlor.
The refreshment table was
centered with a silver candelabra
and arrangement of roses, tulips,
snap dragons and babies breath.
Gifts were displayed on tables in
the gift room, which was also
flanked with spring flowers in
varying shades of pink, coral and
purple.
Saturday April 7, Juli Gibson
was entertained with a luncheon
given by Mrs. Jake Austin, Mrs.
Faye Jordan and Mrs. Benny
McLeod.
The luncheon was catered by
Cross Creek Caterers at the home
of Mrs. Bobby Wright. After cof
fee, the hostesses presented the
bride-elect with gifts of china and
flatware in her selected patterns.
Mr. and Mrs. Neill A. McNeill
and Neill McNeill, Jr. honored
Miss Juli Gibson and her finance,
Keith Spring of Durham, at a wine
and cheese party Saturday evening.
Pink and white azaleas and tulips
decorated the McNeill home.
Cocktail music was provided
throughout the evening. The hosts
presented Miss Gibson and Mr.
Spring with gifts of china and
crystal.

bridal shower, Saturday, March
20.

a.m. CWC is an interdenomina
tional women's group with no
membership or dues. All are
welcome. The buffet lunch is

The Special Feature will be
presented from The Garden Path
in Southern Pines. Allison
Lawrence-Smith of Southern Pines
will provide the special music.
A free, pre-school nursery will

Memorial Presbyterian Church in
Southern Pines. Mothers should
bring a sandwich for their child.

Garden Club
meets with
Mrs. Bishop
The Garden Club Department of
the Raeford Woman's Club met
April 3 at the home of Mrs.
Weldon Bishop.
Hostesses were Mrs. Bishop and
Mrs. Tom Jones.
Mrs. George King, chairman,
opened the meeting with the Col
lect.
The group was made aware of
the 6:30 at the Presbyterian
Church. Guest speaker will be Jo
Sinclair Northrup.
, A coffee hour will be held May
12 at the Hoke County Public
Library from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in
honor of Jo Northrup.
In support of the Hoke Heritage
Hobnob, the garden department,
along with the Kiwanis Club is sell
ing tickets for a May 4 dinner.
Tickets will be $3.50 and will be
held at MacDonald Cafeteria.
Hostesses for the dinner will be
Mrs. Truman Austin, Mrs. Earl
Fowler and Mrs. Archie Maxwell,
Mrs. J.D. McLeod, Mrs. George

The garden department will be

Mrs. McDiarmid also won the

Dr. Dodson is a graduate of
Emory University and Duke
University School of Medicine.

Spartanburg, South Carolina, Dr.
Dodson is preparing for active du
ty as Captain Flight Surgeon in
Aerospace Medicine with th'e
United States Air Force.

23, at the First Baptist Church of
