The wedding look place at 3 p.m. at the Raeford United Methodist Church. Rev. Arthur Winstead officiated at the double ring ceremony. Wedding music was presented by organist Mrs. Betty Upchurch and soloist A1 McMillan. Selec tions included "The Wedding Song" and the "Lord's Prayer". The wedding was directed by Mrs. Carolyn Schwarchber. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie M. Johnson of Raeford and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Johnson of Red Springs. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest A. Hagin of Parkton. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a floor length, three tiered gown, with princess neckline, of candlelight chantilly lace. The gown was made by the bride. She wore as her headpiece, a garland of white daisies and pink baby carnations and carried a bou quet of pink and white daisies, babies breath and pink roses. Cheryl Klingenschmidt was maid of honor. She wore a floor length dress of medium rose chan tilly lace and carried an arm bou quet of pink and white daisies and pink snapdragons. Miss Melissa Gibbs was flower girl. She wore a light pink floor length dress of taffeta and carried a basket of pink rose petals. The honor attendants. Miss Theresa Schwarchber, Miss Debra Shockley and Miss Kim Howard, each carried a pink rose. Julius Hagins, brother of groom was best man. Guests were ushered by Donald and Ronald Johnson, brother of the bride and Mr. Leon Hagin, brother of groom. The ring bearer was Mikey Hall, nephew of groom. All the men wore grey tux edoes and wore pink rose bouton nieres. Linda Stanton is honoree at showers Members of the Raeford Junior Woman's Club met Monday night, May 21, at the home of Mrs. Walter Barnhill for a surprise lingerie shower for Linda Stanton, June 17 bride-elect. Miss Stanton and her mother, Mrs. Betty Stanton, were presented with corsages upon ar rival. After opening and displaying her gifts, the honoree and her mother proceeded into the dining room for refreshments. Cake squares, nuts, mints, cookies and punch were served. A shower honoring June 17 bride-elect Linda Stanton was given by Mrs. Robert Hendrix, at her home. May 17. Upon arrival, Miss Stanton was given a corsage of daisies. Spring flowers were used as decorations throughout the home. The serving table was centered with wedding bells. Guests were served punch, nuts, mints and cake squares. Approximately IS guests called between 7 and 9 p.m. Out of town guests included the bride-dect's grandmother, Mrs. James Laviner, and her aunt Mrs. Jackie Laviner. The hostess remembered Miss Stanton with a gift of china. Miss Linda Stanton was honored with a shower given by Mrs. Rosa Cole, on May 10, at her home. The honoree was presented a corsage or white daisies. Eighteen guests and the honoree were invited into the dining area for refreshments. The table was covered with 4 green hnen doth. Spring flowers entered the table. Refreshments served were cake squares, cheese bails, finger sand wiches and nuts. Mrs. Madeline Shockley and Ms. Lucille Smith assisted. Cake was served by Mrs. Vickie Hagin and Mrs. Myra Hagin. Punch was served by Mrs. Cynthia Johnson and Rebecca Neiman. The guest register was kept by Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hasty. Rice packetes were given to guests by Miss Laura Hagin, Miss Jen nifer Hagin, William Hagin and Alex Schwarchber. The couple will make their home in Parkton after their honeymoon trip to the mountains. The groom is employed by Westinghouse of Fayetteville and the bride is employed by Burlington Ind. of Raeford. BRIDAL SHOWERS On April 9, Ms. Johnson was given a surprise bridal shower. The ladies of the Synoptic Bible Study group met at Mrs. Gerald Win chester's home. Ms. Johnson was given a corsage of daisies and was showered with gifts of household items. Guests were served cake, nuts, mints and coffee. On April 13, the bridal couple was given a miscellaneous shower by Mrs. Vicki Hagin, Mrs. Myra Hagin and Rebecca Neiman. The shower was in Parkton atfthe Scout Hut. After opening gifts, guests were served cake, punch, nuts and mints. On April 23, the couple was given a miscellaneous shower at Mrs. Carolyn Schwar^hber's home. The shower was given by Mrs. Schwarchber, Mrs. Fleeta Maxwell, and Mrs. Madeline Shockley. After opening gifts the guests were served cake, punch, nuts and mints. The hostesses Mr. and Mrs. Morris Rozier, of Raeford, announce the birth of a daughter, Jeana Lunelle, on May 10. Jeana joins a sister, Michelle. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C.P. Kinlaw of Raeford, and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Rozier of St. Pauls. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Stevens, of Raeford, announce the birth of a daughter, Morgan Spencer, on May 12. Paternal grandmother is Mrs. Kerr Stevens and paternal great-grandmother is Mrs. A.K. Stevens, both of Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. John C. McFadyen, of Raleigh, announce the birth of a daughter, Anna Elizabeth, on May 21. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Neill McFadyen Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lyle, of Red Springs, announce the birth of a daughter, Constance Marie, on May 19. She joins a brother, An thony. Mrs. Lyle is the former Terry Jackson of Raeford. Mrs. Larry Grayson Hagin presented the couple a gift of crystal. On May 6, the young married couples class of the Parkton Bap tist Church entertained the couple at the Fellowship Hall. Steak, salad, baked potatoes, cake and ice cream were served. Bridge Mrs Martin Webb Mrs. Martin Webb was hostess to members of her bridge club and a guest, Mrs. Luke McNeill, May 17. High scorer for the evening was Mrs. McNeill. Mrs. Avery Connell won the floating prize, Mrs. Berder Niven won the low score award and Mrs. Earl Gordon was given the bingo prize. Personals Amy Freeze Leroux, daughter of Oleta Lopez, Rt. 2, Raeford was one of 1,223 second prize winners in Saturdays record Lottery jackpot in New York. Amy match ed five of the six winning numbers. Amy married Albert Edward Leroux in 1977 and they live in Waiertown, New York with their four children. Mrs. Martha Nave visited her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Tolar in Manteo last weekend. Mrs. Nave returned home Sunday to Find 8 new pup pies on her back porch. Sonya Falls, president-elect of Raeford Junior Woman's Club, and Bar bara Buie, of the Hoke County Literacy Council review materials recently purchased by the Jr. Woman's Club. Funds earned from the club's March bingo games were earmarked for this community organization. Co hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Winchester. Blue gingham tableclothes were used with pink spring flowers centering each table. The buffet table on the sun porch held an anti que pitcher of many spring flowers. Upon arrival the bride-elect was presented a corsage of white chrysanthemums. Seventeen guests attended and guest and honorees were served roast beef with gravy, string beans, candied yams, brown rice, con gealed pineapple salad, and co coanut cake. The hostesses presented the bride and groom-elect gifts of china in their chosen pattern. Miss Tammie Hendrix, June bride-elect, was honored with a miscellaneous kitchen shower, May 17, at the home of Vicki Hen drix. Hostesses were Vicki and Kathy Hendrix, sisters-in-law of Miss Hendrix. Upon arrival, the honoree received a corsage of white daisies. The living room and dining room were decorated with yellow and white daisies. Refreshments of cake squares, nuts, homemade mints, heart shaped sandwiches and punch were served. Gina Yvette Bell Bel I-Kemp Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Bell Jr. of Carbondale, Illinois announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Gina Yvette, to Arthur D. Kemp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur B. Kemp of Raeford, N.C. Miss Bell is a student at Southern Illinois University Car bondale, majoring in Business Education. She is a 197S graduate of Carbondale Community High School. Kemp, a PhD, candidate in Counseling Psychology at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, graduated in 1980 with a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina A&T State Univer sity. The couple will be married on June 30th at the Greater Gillispie Temple C.O.G.I.C., Carbondale, Illinois and will reside in El Paso, Texas. Elaine Lowtry Lowery-Brayboy Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lowery, of Lumber Bridge, announce the^, engagement of their daughter,L Elaine, to Kenneth Brayboy, of Shannon. The bride elect is a graduate of Parkton High School and is now enrolled at Sandhills Community College in administration manage ment. She is also employed by Resort Realty in Southern Pines.
