Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Harris spent
several days last week at Myrtle
Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Peele of
North Charleston spent the week

Couple honored
with parties
Miss Tammie Hcndrix and Ron
Ellis, who are to be married Sun
day, were honor guests at a family
dinner on Saturday evening at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
EUis on E. Prospect Ave. ext.
Upon arrival, Miss Hendrix was
presented with a corsage of yellow
daisies.
Blue and white floral ar
rangements were used throughout
the living room, den and dining
room.
Thirty family members were
served a dinner of turkey, ham,
vegetables with tea and lemonade.
After dinner, the couple opened
gifts from the guests.
Special guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Earl Hendrix, parents of the
bride-elect and Mrs. Lura Ehret of
Richwood, Ohio, grandmother of
Mr. Ellis. Out-of-town guests in
cluded Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Dull,
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wood of San
ford, Rev. and Mrs. W.M. Ellis of
Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. Lennie
Plummer, Mrs. Jerry Jones, Mrs.
Ricky Gay and Fred Ellis of
Williamston, and Barry Ellis of
Woodbridge, N.J.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard
McMillian hosted a steak cook out
in honor of Tammie Hendrix and
Ron Ellis on May 27.
Upon arrival, Miss Hendrix was
presented a corsage of silk orchids.
The honored couple and 16
guests dined outside on tables
covered with yellow gingham
tablecloths.
The menu consisted of steak,
baked potato, salad, bread, devil
ed eggs, homemade ice cream and
other desserts.
Attending from out of town was
Mrs. Lura Ehret, of Richwood,
Ohio, the groom's grandmother.
Weekend jam
has breakdancers
Residents of Queenmore were
entertained Saturday by a spon
taneous "jam" session which
featured several groups of area
break dancers.
Defined by one enthusiastic
observer, break dancing is "a little
rock, some pop and a whole lot of
soul."
Performing in Saturday's event
were the band Fantasy, The
Queenmore City Rockers, P-Rock
and the Ice Rocking Crew and a
group known as Force One.
Heather Anne Hinshaw

Heather Anne Hinshaw and
Timothy Leon Sessoms announce
their engagement and approaching
marriage.
Miss Hinshaw is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jon P. Hinshaw, of
Farmland, Indiana. She is a 1982
graduate of Monroe Central High
School, Parker City, Indiana. She
is presently attending Asbury Col
lege where she is enrolled in music
education.
Sessoms is the son of Mrs. M.K.
Sessoms and the late Mr. Sessoms,
of Raeford. He is a minister of
music and youth at Southland
Evangelical Methodist Church in
Lexington, Kentucky. A 1980
graduate of Hoke County High
School, he is now attending
Asbury College in Wilmore, Ken
tucky and is majoring in Christian
ministries, with a minor concentra
tion in music.
The couple has selected June 16
as a wedding date. The ceremony
will take place at Estes Chapel in
Wilmore.
Bride-elect is
shower honoree
A bridal shower was given for
Delores Christopherson, Saturday
May 26 at the home of Mrs.
Sharlene Jackson. The bridal
shower was hosted by Mrs.
Sharlene Jackson, Mrs. JoAnn
Allen and Mrs. Patrica Price,
sisters of the groom-elect.
Upon arrival, the bride-elect was
presented a silk-rose corsage by
Mrs. Sharlene Jackson.
Guests were served refreshments
of bridal cake, chips, nuts, mints,
Coke and punch by Mrs. Allen and
Mrs. Price.
