NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals will be received
by tbe County of Hoke, Raeford,
North Carolina, in the conference
room of tbe Pratt Building, Main
Street, Raeford, up to 3:00 PM,
Wednesday, June 27th, 1904, and
immediately thereafter publicly
and read for the furnishing of
labor, material and equipment
entering into the construction of
alterations and additions to the
Hoke County Courthouse,
Raeford, North Carolina.
Bids shall be received as follows:
General Construction
Complete plans, specifications,
and contract documents will be
open for inspection in the office of
Dodge and Associates, Architects
and Planners, 503 Oberlin Road,
Suite 101, Raleigh, North Carolina
27603, in the offices of the
Associated General Contractors,
Carolinas Branch in Corporation
in Charlotte, Greensboro, and
Raleigh, or may be obtained by
those qualified and who will make
a bid, upon deposit of Twenty-five
dollars ($23.00) in cash or certified
check. The full plan deposit will be
returned to contractors submitting
bids provided all documents are
returned to the architect in good
condition within ten (10) days after
the bid date. The full plan deposit
will be returned to contractors not
submitting bids provided all
documents are returned in good
condition at least ten (10) days
prior to the bid date.
The work will require exterior
and interior demolition, repair to
existing and to new work as
follows:
Metal roof, gutters, flashing and
drains; exterior masonry; interior
plaster; repair and replacement of
windows, and additional interior
and exterior storm windows.
AH contractors are hereby
notified that they must have pro
per license under the State.
General Contractors are notified
that Chapter 87, Article 1, general
statutes of North Carolina, will be
observed in receiving and awarding
general contractors submitting
bids on this project must have
license classification for Type of
work to be performed.
Each proposal shall be accom
panied by a cash deposit or a cer
tified check drawn on some bank
or trust company insured "b^ 'the
Federal Deposit Insurance Cor
poration, of an amount equal to
not less than 5 percent of the pro
posal or in lieu thereof a bidder
may offer a bid bond of 3 percent
of the bid executed by a surety
company licensed under the laws

of North Carolina to execute such
bonds, conditioned that the surety
will upon demand forthwith make
payment to the obligee upon said
bond if the bidder fails to execute
the contract in accordance with the
bid bond, and upon failure to
forthwith make payment, the sure
ty shall pay to the obligee an
amount equal to double the
amount of said bond. Said deposit
shall be retained by the owner as li
quidated damages in event of
failure of the successful bidder to
execute the contract within ten
days after the award or to give
satisfactory surety as required by
law by the Owner as liquidated
damages in event of failure of the
successful bidder to execute the
contract within ten days after the
award or to give satisfactory surety
as required by law.
Performance Bond and a Pay
ment Bond will be required for one
hundred percent (100ft) of the
contract price.
Payment will be made on the
basis of ninety percent of monthly
estimates and final payment made
upon completion and acceptance
of work.
No bid may be withdrawn after
the scheduled closing time for the
receipt of bids for a period of 30
days.
The Owner reserves the right to
reject any or all bids and to waive
informalities.
