DEADLINES: Weddings, Thursday, Noon Other Social Items, Monday 5 p.m. Mrs. Boyce Falls, Social Reporter, 875-4562 Mrs. Jay Merle Hotlel Hottel - Fann couple exchanges vows Sherry Yvette Fann and Jay Merle Hottel were married May 26 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Raeford. Rev. Billy C. Beaver officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Lewis of Autryville. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Charles T. Hottel of Raeford. The church was decorated with ferns and palms. An arrangement of flowers in a basket adorned the bapistry. A seven branched candelabra and a fifteen branched spiral candelabra were used on the sides of the altar. The trinity candle and kneeling bench were used to complete the decorations. Mrs. Elga Langdon provided music on the organ for the ceremony. Soloist was Charles Hottel, father of the groom. He sang "This Is The Day", "If" and "The Lord's Prayer". The wedding was directed by Mrs. Darlene Clark. The bride, given in marriage by her father wore a formal gown of white embroidered organza, featuring a portrait neckline edged in scalloped lace, fitted v-point in the back with short capped sleeves. The skirt was fully gathered in the back with a chapel train. Her Juliet cap of embroidered lace held a chapel length illusion veil. She car ried a cascade bouquet of gyp sophilia, white roses and lavender stephanotis with lace streamers tied with love knots. Mrs. Leigh Hottel of Fayet teville was matron of honor. She wore an evening length lavender dress and jacket with fitted bodice and front princess seaming. She carried a bouquet of silk dusty roses, lilac, and white rose buds ac cented with babies breath. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Joanne Babyak of Virginia, Mrs. Joy War ren of Elizabethtown, sisters of the groom, Kim Wood of Raeford and Elaine .Morris of Raleigh. They wore gowns like that of the honor attendant. Best man was John Hottel, brother of the groom of Fayet teville. Ushers were Richard Babyak of Virginia, Mark Wood of Raeford, Mike Resop of Wilm ington and Greg Morris of Raleigh. Ring bearer was Jason Hottel, nephew of the groom. The mother of the bride was at tired in an apricot long sleeved shift dress with lace cuffs, lace yoke and mushroom pleats. The groom's mother wore a turquoise dress fashioned in a blouson style with long sleeves and high neck ruffle. Both mothers wore orchid corsages. Mr. and Mrs. John Hottel hosted a reception given in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony. Mrs. Juanita Barh and Miss Martha Parker served. The bride's book was kept by Mrs. Helen Inman. Lilac and white rose buds decorated the top of the cake. An arrangement of pink carna tions, white daisies and lavender rose buds decorated the table. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hottel entertained at a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall on Fri day evening. The bride is a graduate of Lakewood High School and is employed by Fayetteville Neurodiagnostics, Inc. The groom is a graduate of Hoke County High School and is employed by DuBose Steel, Inc. of Roseboro. Donna, a student at Upchurch Junior High, was named a winner in the area of physical education. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Priest and Mr. Wilmer Hendrix and the late Eva B. Hen drix, all of Raeford. Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Harris spent several days recently in Roxboro. While there, they attended the funeral of Bill Garret. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. M.V. It was styled with a high neck and stand up col lar. It had a natural waistline and was accented with ribbons and Chantilly lace. The full skirt was accented with motifs of Venise lace and Chantilly lace and ended in a chapel train. Her white fingertip veil of illusion was held by a wreath of flowers and ribbon. The maid of honor was Connie Lowery of Lumber Bridge. She wore a formal gown of blue matte taffeta featuring a natural waistline and lace overlay with scooped neckline. Matron of honor was Carol Butler of Shannon. Her gown was like that of the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Nancy Bums of Shannon, Jean Brayboy of Shan non, Lou Ann Brayboy of Shan non and Darlene Tyler of Red Springs. They wore gowns like those of the honor attendants in pink. Mrs. Kenneth Brayboy Best man was James A. Brayboy of Red Springs. Marian Butler, Rickey Stoker wed in Fayetteville church on June 2 Marion Elaine Butler and Rickey Charles Stoker, both of Fayetteville were married at 3 p.m. June 2 at the Second Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Rev. Johnston Gupton and Rev. Larry Dickens officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marion Butler Jr. of Fayetteville. She graduated from Pine Forest Senior High School in 1977 and attended Pem broke State University. She is employed by Fayetteville Veterans Administration Hospital. The groom is the son of Mrs. Ava Glisson of Raeford. He graduated from Lumberton Senior High School in 1978 and Pembroke State University in 1982.
