this twisted entanglement has proven to be a good resting place for

Wouldn't it be a surprise to see a

(Continued from page 1A)
McNeill did not know the car
had been stolen until a sheriff's
deputy came into the club and ad
vised him that the car had been
wrecked, the report says.
In another incident, two
juveniles were caught last week
soon after they allegedly broke in
to a house.
Guy Morris reported that he
returned to his home and heard a
loud noise.
As he was going toward the
house, two boys ran out and away.
One of them lost a hat, reports say.
The recovered hat apparently
proved to be the undoing of the
team.
One of the boys, the owner, was
identified from the cap. He
allegedly identified the other boy.
Only about S3 in pennies were
found missing from the house.
A hammer and screwdriver were
used to gain entry into the house,
reports say.
In a further incident, two cars
were broken into and another
break-in was attempted in the JRA
Industries parking lot last Satur
day night.
Thurmond Chavis reported to
police that two tires and rims were
removed from his truck.
According to police reports, the
truck was left up on cinder blocks
and apparently fell off.
The tires and rims were worth
$400, and there was $500 in
damage done to the truck when it
fell, said Chief Wiggins.
David Davies also had his car
broken into on the same night and
his tape deck was taken.
Davies reported the loss of the
deck at $300 and reported $150
damage to his car.
Shirley Gibson reported that an
attempt was made on her car, but
that entry was not gained.
She reported $150 damage to her
car.
Hoke High School reported that
someone threw a can of beer
though a plate glass window and
caused an estimated $200 damage,
police reports say.
Harris Avenue's General Store
reported the larceny of $10 in gas
on June 18.
Police reports say that the
suspect tried to pay for the gas
with a check but was unable to do
so because of store policy.
He went to cash the check and
never returned, say reports.
Doris A Graham reported that
her billfold was taken off the
backseat of her car last Saturday.
She was only gone for about five
minutes, said the sheriffs report.
