Home team in the Tournament An all star team from Hoke County's Bambino Baseball League will be traveling to La Grange to take part in the State Tournament which begins July 14. The first game for the Hoke County All Stars is on Ju ly 14 at 8 p.m. against La Grange in the double elimination tourna ment. Association sponsoring tennis ladder on July 16 The Hoke Tennis Association is sponsoring a tennis ladder begin ning on Monday, July 16. Seeding for the ladder will be done from drawing a name and a number to match. In order to be eligible for the ladder, you must be a member of the Hoke Tennis Association. Dues are $10 ? family, $5 -single, $3 - student. To join the association, contact Mary James or Terry Houston or mail your check to H.T.A., P.O. Box 898, Raeford, N.C. 28376. Rules and regulations for the ladder are: Ladder competition may begin on Monday, July 16. Awards will be presented to the ladder winners after the Closed Association Tour nament in September. One can challenge one position ahead. Each player will have a wild card that can be used one time only to challenge anyone on the ladder. A person who has been challenged must play within two days or forfeit his or her position. No other challenge can be made or ac cepted prior to completion of a match. Matches will consist of 2 out of 3 sets with the 12-point tie-breaker to be used at 6-6. USTA rules and regulations will be observed. Members of the association will automatically be assigned to the ladder. If you do not wish to par ticipate, please contact Susan Houston, ladder chairman, at 875-4529. Winners are responsible for reporting position changes to the ladder chairman. Current stan dings will be listed weekly in The News-Journal.
