Who can blame him? 4-H'ers learn about fishing Local youths got a chance to try their hand at fishing during a six hour 4-H Fishing Workshop held August 1 and 2. Tom Pilkington, Hoke County Wildlife Enforcement Officer taught the workshop, which in cluded information on safety, fishing laws, equipment, and kinds of fish. After spending more time in class, the group went to a local pond to fish. Several youths were successful in catching some fish. Thirteen youths participated in the workshop, which was spon sored by the 4-H Program of the Agricultural Extension Services. Langdon honored by Navy Navy SMSN Robert G. Langdon has been named the "Up and Comer" for the Quarter of April through June on the USS Preble. The selection for thi? award was determined by recommendation of a command directed board com posed of the senior Chief Petty Officer in each department and the Command Master Chief. The board considered a nominee in paygrade E-l and E-3 from each department. Coliform bacteria is an en vironmental bacteria which is found in the soil and intestinal tract of warm blooded animals. The presence of coliform bacteria in drinking water indicates that some contamination has occurred. In an attempt to correct the cause of the contamination we have done the following: We have flushed water lines.
