Bond sales in Hoke hit $30,000 mark Sales of Series EE Savings bonds in Hoke County during April- June of 1984 totaled $30,283. Total sales for the first six mon ths amonted to $62,930 according to Richard T. Jones, District Director of the U.S. Savings Bonds Division. April-June sales of U.S. Savings Bonds in North Carolina amounted to $13,166,430. Sales for the first six months of 1984 amounted to $27,360,717, up 2.4 percent from a year ago. This represents 43.9 percent of the state's dollar goal of $62,300,000. Nationally, sales in the first six months of 1984 were $2. 1 billion, a one percent increase over the same period a year ago. Reported redemptions for the first half of the year totalled S3. 3 billion, the lowest for any January-June period since 1973. Reported redemptions in June were $482 million. As of June 30, $72.9 billion worth of Savings Bonds were held by the public, an increase of $3.3 billion from June 30, 1983. Bond holdings represent debt that does not have to be financed in the open market at higher interest and ad ministrative costs. Hodges Assoc. receives Addy Hodges Associates, Inc. recently received notification that it had received an Award of Excellence from the Advertising Federation of Greater Hampton Roads and the Tidewater Society of Com municating Arts. The "Addy" was awarded to the Fayetteville advertising agency for a radio campaign created for San ford Brick Corporation. Written by Don McDowell and produced at Studio Center in Nor folk, Virginia, the radio commer cials were entered in the Tidewater Addy Competition by the produc tion house.
