Game changed
The November 2 varsity football
game between E.E. Smith and
Hoke High School has been chang
ed from Friday to Thursday night
because school will not be in ses- ?
sion on Friday for either team.
It will be played at the regular
time on-Novcmbcr 1.
The J.V. game has also been
moved" up one day to Wednesday,
October 31.
Recreation Bits
Fall flea market
The Recreation Department will hold its final flea market of
the year on October 27. (Saturday) Cost will be $5. per space and
must be paid in advance. Call 873-4035 for more information.
Waccamaw Pottery trip
Come on out senior citizens! The Recreation Department is
sponsoring a trip to the Waccamaw Pottery Complex in Myrtle
Beach, South Carolina. Do your holiday shopping early. The
cost of the trip will be $5 per person, and is limited to the first 45
PAID REGISTERED INDIVIDUALS.
The date is Tuesday, November 13. Plans are currently being
made to stop at a local Myrtle Beach restaurant for an evening
meal. Departure time is set for 8 a.m. in the field adjacent to the
Old National Guard Armory. Approximate return time in
Raeford will be 8 p.m. So, come on out for a day of shopping
fun. Call the Recreation Office at 875-4035 for more informa
tion.
Parks and Recreation basketball
Hoke County Parks and Recreation Commission will be spon
soring four different adult basketball leagues this Fall and
Winter for all interested participants. Details for the various
leagues are as follows:
Men's Liniment: Ages 30-up as of January 1, 1985. Place and
time for games will be arranged at a later date. Organizational
meeting will be January 7, 7 p.m., Parks and Recreation Office
(Old National Guard Armory).
Women's League: Ages 18-up, or no longer in High School.
Place and time for games will be arranged at a later -date.
Organizational meeting will be Monday, November 12, 7. p.m.,
at the Parks and Recreation Office (Old National Guard Ar
mory)
Men's League: Ages 18-up, or no longer in High School.
Games to be played on Monday and Wednesday nights. Place
and time for games will be arranged at a later date. Organiza
tional meeting will be held Wednesday, November 14, 7 p.m. in
the Parks and Recreation Office (Old National Guard Armory).
Men's Open League: Current 9th graders and up. Place and
time for games will be arranged at a later date. Organizational
meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 8 p.m. in the
Parks and Recreation Office (Old National Guard Armory).
All interested participants and/or teams should make plans to
attend the organizational meeting for the league of your choice.
