AIRPORT AUTHORITY -The Hoke/Raeford Airport Authority will hold its regular meeting at the Raeford City Hall on the second Thursday of each month at 7:43 p.m. AMERICAN LEGION -American Legion Post 20 of Hoke County meets the sseead Tuesday of each month at the Edin borough Restaurant at 8 p.m. Those interested in join ing are invited. COUNTY COMMISSION -Members of the Hoke County Commission meet the first Monday of each month at 9 a.m. and the third Monday at 7:30 p.m. Pratt Building located at 227 N. Main St. in Raeford. The public is invited. CITY COUNCIL - The Raeford City Council meets the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in City Hall. The public is encouraged to attend. SCHOOL BOARD - The Hoke County Board of Educa tion meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the board offices on Wooley Street. The public is encourag ed to attend. AL ANON ? Meetings are held every Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the Library Conference Room . Oct. 29 IEA - Indian Education Act (IEA) area meetings have been scheduled at the following loca tion: Oct. 29 -Public Hearing -Courthouse. All meetings will begin at 7:30. It is important that citizens attend these meetings due to the amount of work that needs to be done. Oct. 24 SANDHILLS LIBRARY -The Board of Trustees of the San dhill Regional Library System will hold its regular quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 2 p.m. at Christopher's Restaurant which is located on US 1 north of Aberdeen. Board Chairman Jake Killian states that board meetings are open to the public. Following the meeting, trustees will visit the Page Memorial Library in Aberdeen which is the newest member of the Sandhill Regional Library System. Friday eights TURKEY SHOOT - A turkey shoot will be held at the North Raeford Fire Department every Friday night. The events are sponsored by the North Rarford Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Bring the family. Hotdogs, hamburgers, coffee and soft drinks will be served. FOOD PROGRAM - The Lumbee Regional Development Association, Inc. announces the sponsorship of the Child Care Food Program. Meals will be available at no separate charge to enrolled children at the South Hoke Day Care and will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, sex or handicapped. DOWN'S SYNDROME -During the month of Oc tober, the associated 600 local parent groups of the National Down's Syndrome Congress will join in promoting awareness of Down's Syn drome through media events, displays and symposia.
