Liniment basketball An organizational meeting for the Men's Liniment Basketball League will take place on Monday, January 7, at 7 p.m. in the Recreation Office. All interested teams should have a represen tative present. To be eligible, you must be 30 years old or older. For additional information, contact the Recreation Office at 5-4035, or come by our office in the Old National Guard Ar mory. Youth basketball The Parks and Recreation Department will be offering four basketball leagues for all interested youth. All games will be played in J.W. Turlington Gym. Registration for each league will be as follows: NOVICE - Boys and girls, ages 7-9. Sign-up in Turlington Gym on Monday, January 7 and January 14 at 4 p.m. BOYS MIDGET - Boys, ages 10-12. Sign-up in Turlington Gym on Tuesday, January 8 and January 5 at 4 p.m. . ^BOYS JUNIOR - Boys, ages 13-15. Practice has started for Hoke High's Bucks Basketball team, and the young players are working hard. Running through this *varm-up drill, the Bucks have been pegged as possible winners of the Southeastern m a 4-A conference. According to Head Coach Greg Killingsworth, being picked as winners is nice, but the surprise of being a winning underdog is even better. Johnny Allbrooks, a 5 foot, 10 inch senior, will be returning to the team this year and is 4 'proving himself," said Killingsworth. New to the varsity team this year is Bruce Moore. Moore, standing at 6 feet, 5 inches, can play either guard or forward, Killingsworth said. Patrick Grace will probably be joining the team after Christmas as he is just coming back from knee surgery, Killingsworth said. The team is shaping up well although the coach is still looking for the starting line-up that will "gel" on the floor, he said. The Bucks face their first op ponents at home on December 4.
