Activities fill book week
By Elizabeth Burgess
Hoke County Librarian
The Hoke County Public
Library celebrated Children's
Book Week with library tours,
story hours, and a special display
in the window of McLauchlin
Hardware Company. The elemen
tary schools and the public library
displayed books, posters, art
work, and projects in the
McLauchlin store window. We
thank Jimmy McPhaul for allow
ing us to use his window for the
display.
We hope that many young
readers will come to the public
library to check out some of the
new books that were on display
during Children's Book Week, and
we also hope that they will take ad
vantage of the story hours offered
at the public library.
A special thank you to Mrs. Sara
Maxwell for arranging a special ex
hibit of her brother-in-law's art
work. Earl Park is a most talented
artist and we are delighted to have
his work on exhibit in the library.
If you have not seen the paint
ings, please do come by the library.
