ScuHock School in the fourth
grade entered a contest entitled
"What Christmas Means to Me. "

Christinas is a time of joy. It is a
time for family to get together. It
shows the love and care that you
feel for your family and friends.
And when you get a gift,
remember a gift comes from the
heart. It's not what a gift is, it's
what a gift shows.
Christmas only comes once a
year, so when it does come, make
it a great one.

Christmas means a lot to me. I
like to go shopping for presents for
ones I love. I like it when I go to
sleep and wake up to find presents
for me.
Some families can't have all of
that. So Christmas also means to
help the needy with a warm place,
love, care, food, and a special mo
ment like Christmas with presents.
On Christmas day the house would
be beautiful and filled with love.

But the best part is to be with my

I like to give thanks for what I

ball, that would be fine with me.
But as long as my family gets
something, I don't care if I don't
get anything. Christmas means
snow and being with people I love.

Christmas is a time of year when
people are sharing and caring. It is
a time when people are giving
presents as they did when Jesus
was born.
Jesus was wrapped in swaddling
clothes and layed in a manger.
Jesus was bom in a stable
because Mary and Joseph had
come to Bethlehem to pay their
taxes. There were no vacant rooms
in any of the inns. They had to go

to a stable and stay there. That
night Mary had her baby.
Christ was born. That night a
star shone in the sky - the
brightest one. The three Wings had
known that Christ was born. They
followed the star and it led them to
Christ. They gave gifts of gold.
That's what Christmas means to
me.

day. I think we should take out
time and think of the things that
the Lord has done for us. If we
didn't have the Lord, we wouldn't
be living today. We should be
thankful for the Lord because He

should love everyone and not hate.
I think we should give the Lord a
present. I think the best present we
could give is our heart. I think the
Lord has a present for us too. I

had to sleep out in the barn. That
night Mary had a baby! The baby
was Jesus. There was a big star up
above the barn. It wasn't a star like
you see every night. This star was
different and special.
This star let people know that
Christ was born.

Bearing gifts
These Raeford Parachute Club members bring clothing and other
items to be given to needy Hoke County families as part of the Share
Your Christmas program. Many of the members of the club, who
jump at the Raeford Airport, are not Hoke County residents, but
made the donations because of a community minded spirit.
