Weston, who has made Line Sergeant and is going to Union County. Price joined the force in March of 1980 and was the first woman to become a North Carolina State Trooper. Craft seminar set for Jan. 24 Hoke County craftsmen will have an opportunity to learn some marketing skills at a Craft Marketing Seminar to be held on Thursday, January 24, 1985 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Elizabethtown. The seminar is open to crafts men, shop owners, or anyone in terested in marketing crafts.. Dr. Robert D. Dahle, Extension Specialist in Business Management and Cooperatives with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Serviced, will discuss how to price crafts. Other speakers will cover such topics as where to sell, recognizing quality, and how to display, package, and label crafts. The crafts market is very com petitive today and craftsmen must not only produce quality items but use the very best marketing techni ques to realize a profit. The crafts marketing seminar, sponsored by the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service will be held in the Bladen County Agricultural Center. Complete in formation and registration forms are available from the Hoke Coun ty Extension Office on South Magnolia Street. Dennis receives NC State grant Michael R. Dennis, son of retired Army Staff Sgt. Robert V. Dennis of Rural Route 2, Raeford, has received a four-year U.S. Air Force ROTC scholarship. The cadet was selected for the scholarship on the basis of com prehensive tests, high school scholastic achievement and ex tracurricular activities. The scholarship covers full tui tion, textbooks, laboratory fees and pays a monthly subsistence allowance. Upon graduation and comple tion of the ROTC program, the cadet will be commissioned an Air Force second lieutenant. Dennis is a student at North Carolina State University, Raleigh. Miles completes Army food course Army Pvt. Reba D. Miles, daughter of Mildred F. and Roscoe Miles of 403 Crawford Wright Road, Raeford, has completed an Army food service specialist course at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. The course trained personnel to prepare and serve food in large and small quantities. Students received training in baking, field kitchen operations, and the operation of an Army dining facility.
