DEADLINES ; Weddings <? Engagements, Thursday 5 p.m. Other Social Items, Monday 5 p.m. Mrs. Connell Nicholson Nicholson -Quick tie nuptial knot Miss Pamela Elaine Quick and Connell Nicholson were married at Faith Temple Holy Church in High Point on November 24. The Rev. Earnest McCants officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Quick of High Point. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie B. Nicholson of Raeford. Matron of honor was Angela Wilson of High Point. Bridesmaids were all sisters of the groom: Pearlie Mackie, Nattie Reid, and Marcella Ervin. Trilby Smith was flower girl and Forshad Quick, brother of the bride was ringbearer. Artis B. Nicholson, brother of the groom, was best man. Ushers were Kelly Mackie, Russell Reid, and Evans Ervin, brothers-in-law of the groom; Willie A. Nicholson, brother of the groom; and James Quick, brother of the bride. Wedding musicians were Kenny Patrick and Cynthia J am er son, John Cunningham and Mable Coleman were responsible for photography and directing the wedding. A reception, hosted by the bride's parents, followed the ceremony. It was held at the Jamestown Hut. A special out-of-town guest was Mr. Paul Wall of Raeford, uncle of the groom. The bride is a graduate of An drews High School and she is employed by Windwood Inc. The groom is a graduate of Hoke High School and he is an employee of Woodmark Original, the couple will live in High Point. Qawfad-White wed On December 8 Miss Margaret Jennings White was married to Shea Smiley Crawford. The Rev. Charles E. White performed the double ring ceremony in the St. Pauls Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Atlas Thomas White of St. Pauls are the parents of the bride. The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Sampson Crawford of Raeford. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a dress of Belgium lace with fitted bodice and a cathedral train. Her cathedral length veil was also accented with Belgium lace. She wore a single strand of pearls. Her bouquet had white roses and miniature red and white poinsettias in baby's breath. Maid of honor was Miss Bar bara Blair of Wilmington. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Karen Car mines of Belle Mead, N.J., sister of the groom, Miss Jean Newton of Fayetteville, Mrs. Angia Hanno of Hope Mills, and Miss Jenny Duncan of Red Springs. They all wore dresses of deep rose taffeta and carried small bouquets similiar to the bride's. The groom's father, George Sampson Crawford, served as best man. Ushers were Dr. Edward L. Carmines of Belle Meade, N.J., brother-in-law of the groom, Milton White of Fayetteville, brother of the bride, Eddie Beverly Carrie A. Hudson Hudson - Brown to be married The engagement of Miss Carrie Annette Hudson to George P. Brown is announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hudson of Roseboro. Mr. Brown is the son of the late W.D. and Delphia Parker Brown of Raeford. Christmas wreaths and greenery decorated the room. The food tables had silver candelabra and arrangements of cut flowers. Mr. and Mrs. W.N. McCormick greeted guests. Mrs. Cutler L. Ballance kept the guest register. Mrs. Neill Alford, Mrs. Russell Powers, and Mrs. C.H. Howard served punch. Miss Doris Adams served the three-tiered wedding cake. Guests danced to the music of Paul Reichle and his combo of Fayetteville. The couple left the reception for a trip to the North Carolina moun tains. They will make their home in Hoke County, near Raeford. Rehearsal Dinner Mr. and Mrs. George S. Crawford entertained with a din ner following the rehearsal. A steak meal was served at the Edin borough Restaurant to the wed ding party and out-of-town family and friends. After dinner, champagne and sparkling juice were served. Mrs. Shea Smiley Crawford Rockfish News By Polly Barnard Tel. 875-2736 Circle ti\ at Galatia Presbyterian Church met Tuesday, December 1 1 at the home of Mrs. Cecil Reynolds with nineteen members present. In the absence of the circle chairman, Mrs. Bobby Gillis, Mrs. Pearl Bruton presided. Mrs. Nellie Williams led the Bible Study. After the meeting adjourned Mrs. Reynolds and co-hostess, Mrs. Ed win Newton, Sr. served refreshments and a social hour was enjoyed. * * ? The community extends sym pathy to the family of Robert Daniels who died Wednesday, December 12. The funeral service was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Pittman Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in the Raeford Cemetery. ? ? ?
