Bucks split two 9
girls undefeated
The Hoke High School Bucks
won one and lost one last week to
move their record to 5-3.
On last Wednesday, the Bucks
took on Cape Fear and emerged
victors 68-58.
Tony McRae's 16 points led the
Bucks to the yvin.
On Friday night, the luck of the
Bucks did not run so well.
The team dropped their first
conference game to E.E. Smith
70-63.
Again McRae was the high scor
ing Buck but he was also the high
scorer of the game.
Marvis Maynor and Bruce
Moore followed McRae with 12
and 1 1 points respectively.
The Hoke High Lady Bucks re
mained undefeated last week as
they polished off Cape Fear 65-55
and E.E. Smith 56-49.
Del Pridgen was the Lady
Bucks' high scorer popping 18
points.
The Lady Bucks are now 7-0.

What a cutie
This little beagle Is so small that he can hardly step over the pine

Youth basketball
The Parks and Recreation Department will be offering four
basketball leagues for all interested youth. All games will be
played in J.W. Turlington Gym. Registration for each league
will be as follows:
NOVICE - Boys and girls, ages 7-9. Sign-up in Turlington
Gym on Monday, January 7 and January 14 at 4 p.m.
BOYS MIDGET - Boys, ages 10-12. Sign-up in Turlington
Gym on Tuesday, January 8 and January IS at 4 p.m.
BOYS JUNIOR - Boys, ages 13-15. Sign-up in Turlington
Gym on Wednesday, January 2 and January 9 at 4 p.m.
GIRLS - Girls, ages 10-13. Sign-up in Turlington Gym on
Thursday, January 3, and January 10 at 4 p.m.
Youth basketball coaches
All adults interested in coaching in the Hoke County Parks
and Recreation Commission's Youth Basketball League are re
quired to come by the Recreation Office and fill out a Coaches
Application Form. Office hours are from 8-Noon and 1-5 p.m.,
