DEADLINES: Weddings A Engagements, Thursday 5 p.m. Other Social Items, Monday 5 p.m. Bullock-Winburn are married in Vass Miss Georgia Carol Winburn and Mark Edward Bullock of Lake Charles, Louisiana were married on December 23 in the First Baptist Church of Vass. The Rev. Jesse Ray Mansfield officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William George Winburn of Route 1, Shannon. She is a graduate of Hoke High School and the Associated Airline School of Miami Beach, Fla. She is now employed by the Bob Winfree Travel Agency of Lake Charles, La. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Rogers Bullock of Vass. He is a graduate of Union Pines High School and is employed by Milchem Inc. of Lake Charles. The church was decorated with Christmas greenery on the seven branched candelabra, a unity can dle, and a kneeling bench. Poinset tias were used in the sanctuary and narthex. The windows were decorated with holly, pine, ivy, and three candles. The mothers' pews were marked with white satin bows. Wedding musicians were Judy Mansfield, organist, Cynthia Spivey, pianist and soloist, and Brian Foster, soloist. Musical selections included "Just the Way You Are", "The Wedding Song", and "The Wedding Prayer." The bride, escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, wore a gown of white chiffon. The Victorian neckline and Chantilly lace-trimmed yoke were accented with seed pearls. The bishop sleeves had deep cuffs with lace appliques and satin rib bon. The full skirt was trimmed with ruffled lace and satin ribbon onto its cathedral-length train. She also wore a lace-trimmed veil. Her bouquet was of journey lillies, pine, ivy and holly berries. Betsy Hargrove of Raleigh was maid of honor. She wore a gown of emerald green taffeta with a fit ted waist, short puffed sleeves, and a softly gathered skirt. She carried a spray of silk poinsettias. The bridesmaids were Donna Bullock of Eastwood, Kathy Kuz minski of Fayetteville, and Shirley Solomon of Southern Pines. They wore dresses and carried flowers like those of the honor attendant. Best man was Lane Bullock of Vass. Ushers were Kent and Mike Bullock of Vass, John Bullock of Eastwood, Billy- Winburn of Shan non and Dana McKenzie of Fort Bragg. The men all wore charcoal gray coats, pinstriped pants, and holly boutonnieres. Wedding Reception Mr. and Mrs. Lane Bullock hosted a reception following the wedding. It was held in their home in Vass. Guests were greeted by Sue McKenzie. Wedding cake was served by Mary Katherine Ed wards. Marjorie Marcey served hot and cold punch. Others who helped with serving were Margaret Beauchamp, Anthea Tate, EUamae Marion. Rehearsal Party On December 21 a pig pickin* was given in honor of the bride and Mrs. Mark Bullock groom at Ed-Mar Farms. It was hosted by Lane Bullock, Mike and Kent Bullock and Roger Marion. The dinner featured barbequed pork, chicken, and beef ribs. Lake Charles Party On January 5 Mark and Georgia Bullock were guests of honor at a dinner at the Lake Charles Coun try Club. Hosts were Danny Palmer and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Yates. After the seafood dinner the couple was given gifts and toasted with champagne. Personals Mrs. W.L.
