Buck runners take 2nd The Hoke High Bucks boys track team placed second in a four way meet last Thursday, They finished with 71 points. Douglas Byrd won the meet with 3 points. Westover and Terry Sanford finished third and fourth. Tarrell Carpenter led the Bucks attack with a first place finish in the 100 meter dash, 200-meter dash, long jump and ran on the winning 400-meter relay teams. Don Woods ran both the 1600 and 3200 meter events, and won both of these races. The 400-meter relay team came from behind to stay unbeaten this year. The team is Greg Thompson, Joseph All brooks, John Babe, ?n<1 Tarrell Carpenter - their time was 44.1. The 800-meter relay beat Westover and Byrd. Their time was 1:34. The team is Joseph Allbrooks, Darcey Cunningham, Greg Thompson and John Baker. The Hoke Tennis Association is kicking off its sixth year this spring, and the Board of Directors is excited about promoting tennis this season. What better way to get off to a fast start than to have a tennis tournament. On April 19, 20 and 21,. the HT A will have a tourna ment for HTA members and those interested in joining the Hoke Ten nis Association. An entry form can be found below.
