Slabbing follows sense scrap
A 15-year-old Hoke County girl,
who was accused with the Saturday
night stabbing of a man, had not
been charged on Tuesday, Hoke
County Sheriff's Department
show.
Ronnie Campbell, 29, of
Raeford, was taken to Scotland
Memorial Hospital after the
daughter of his girlfriend ap
parently stabbed him in the chest,
Hoke County Deputy Clarence
Patterson said in a report.
According to a statement made
by the suspect, an argument
started between the girl and Camp
bell when the subject of "people
with good sense" was broached.
The girl first tried to attack
Campbell with a stick, the state
ment says.
Campbell and the girl's mother
took the stick from her, the suspect
said in the statement.
Campbell then tried to hit her
with the stiok, but the girl ran into
the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and
"cut him," according to the state
ment.
After the incident, the girl went
to the telephone and called the
police, she told Patterson.
According to deputies, no war
rants have been taken out on the
girl.
In a separate incident, Upchurch
Junior High School was victimized
by thieves last Friday night.
According to reports, a heating
air conditioning unit was removed
from the window of the computer
room at the school.
Taken from the room were two
13 -inch color television sets and
the air conditioning unit, reports
say.
Upchurch Principal Allen Ed
wards told deputies the estimated
value of the equipment was $923.
According to the report, there
was an alarm system connected to
the door of the room that also
detected movement inside the
room.
The alarm apparently did not go
off because students found the en
tire window, used as an entrance,
on the ground beside the building
and discovered the equipment
missing, says the report.
A total of $1,246.76 in cash,
checks and food stamps was taken
from The Party Shop last Tuesday,
according to reports.
During operating hours on that
day, someone walked into the store
owner's office and took the bank
bag containing the valuables.
Later, the Fayetteville Police
Department recovered the bag with
$896.76 in checks and food stamps
inside, reports say.
Thieves kept the money, accord
ing to reports.
Last Sunday, the Friendship
Grove Free Will Baptist Church
parking lot was hit by thieves while
services were being held.
According to reports, the hub
caps of six vehicles were stolen.
Whoever took the wheelcovers
walked on the balk of their feet so
no footprints were available to
deputies, reports say.
The value of the hubcaps was
estimated at $680, according to
reports.

A warrant for arrest, issued
against Medieros on February 13,
says the man forced a 16-year-old
girl onto a couch.
There are no other details about
the assault on the warrant.

LeGrand served nine days in

90 days in jail suspended for two
years unsupervised probation and
