In other court action, Commie Wall, 41, of Shannon, was ordered tp spend last weekend in jail after pleading guilty to being drunk and disorderly on June 5. | Charles Goodwin, of Wagram, was found guilty of misdemeanor larceny and sentenced to 1 2 months in prison suspended for two years' supervised probation, according to records. Goodwin was brought into court on a charge of forgery but that charge was downgraded, according to records. According to a warrant, Good win took a check from Ellis Smith and cashed it for $100.30. ? Goodwin was ordered by Keever to pay a $50 fine and SlOO.SO in restitution, records say. E bender Locklear Usher, of Raeford, was given a six month suspended sentence and three years probation after being convicted of shoplifting from the local A&P foodstore. A warrant for the 40-year-old Usher was issued on April 10. According to that warrant. Usher stole four bottles of col ogne, three pairs of "booties" and 12 cartons of chewing gum from the store. Michael Gerald Scott, of Raeford, was convicted of stealing seven azalea plants from Hoke County High School, according to records. Scott, 17, was sentenced to two years suspended for three years supervised probation and fined $50, records say. The man was also ordered by the court to perform 250 hours of community service. According to records, the stolen plants were valued at $10.50. Five area residents were con victed of driving while impaired (DWI) in court last week. Harold Blue, a Hamlet resident, was convicted of DWI on May 5, according to records. The conviction was Blue's se cond, records say. The 51-year-old man was sentenced to 90 days suspended for one year unsupervised probation and fined $100, records say. He was also ordered to spend seven days in jail, according to records. Louise McLaughlin Robeson, a 55 year old Raeford woman, was sentenced to 90 days suspended for one year on special supervised pro bation and seven days in jail for her second conviction of DWI, ac cording to records. The woman, who was arrested on October 12 of last year, was also fined $100, records say. Anthony Williams, a Maxton resident, was sentenced to 90 days suspended for two years special supervised probation for his se cond conviction of DWI. Williams, 20, who was charged on May 18, was also ordered to spend seven days in jail and pay a fine of $100, records say. Vernon Woodrow Hair, of Raeford, was sentenced to six months suspended for two years special supervised probation, ordered to spend seven days in jail and fined $150 after being con victed of DWI for the second time. Hair, 43, was arrested on March 7, according to records. Jeffry Allen Murphy, 23, was convicted of DWI on May 4 and was sentenced to 60 days suspend ed for one year unsupervised pro bation and fined $100 after being convicted of DWI. Murphy is a Hope Mills resi dent. Jimmy H. Hammonds, of Wakulla, was fined $15 for posses sion of marijuana. The 16-year-old Hammonds was cited on February 17, records say. Couple arrested for marijuana By Ed Miller Two Raeford residents were out of jail on $2,000 bond each after being charged with drug viola tions. John Henry McNeill and Lou Mattie Purcell Monroe of 1571 McBryde Lake Road were charged on May 29 with intending to sell and deliver marijuana and posses sion of drug paraphernalia, Hoke County Sheriff's Department reports show. Deputy Mack High and Deputy C.E. Harris served a search war rant on the couple following an in vestigation. Upon entering the house, High asked McNeill to show him where the pot was hidden, according to the report. The 48-year-old man handed the deputies 113 grams of the controll ed substance, High said in the report. According to Hoke County Sheriff Dave Barrington, the mari juana weighed about three ounces. The marijuana had been broken into 27 plastic bags and five paper envelopes, according to the report. Also turned over to the deputies was $260 in cash, apparently from the sale of the drugs, according to the report. In a statement to the deputies, McNeill said that the marijuana confiscated was the second batch he had sold. He had collected S600 from the first sales, he said. McNeill also told deputies that he got the pot from an unknown man in a van. McNeill had not seen the man since he received the second ship ment, he told deputies. Both McNeill and Monroe, 39, were charged, reports say, adding that Monroe had not sold any of the drug but she knew it was in the house.
