Bounds-Williams
marry on June 29
Miss Rachel Marie Williams was
married to Joel Glenn Bounds on
June 29 in the Evangelical
Methodist Church. The Rev.
David Walters officiated at the
3:00 double ring ceremony.
The altar held a large arrange
ment of white, blue, and yellow
daises. Greenery and white bows
were used in the church.
Mr. Chris Watkins, organist,
and Mrs. Tammie H. Ellis, soloist,
provided wedding music. "The
Wedding March," "The Wedding
Song," and "The Lord's Prayer"
were included.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a long gown of
white organza. The bodice had a
Queen Anne neckline. The bishop
sleeves had silk shadow insets. Silk
venise lace and pearls trimmed the
bodice, sleeves, and skirt. Her veil
was attached to a bandeau of
flowers. She carried a nosegay of
blue, yellow, and white daises.
The matron of honor was Mrs.
Carolyn Smith, sister of the bride.
Her dress was of blue taffeta with
white lace. Miss Melody West of
Fairmont was maid of honor. She
wore a dress of blue taffeta. Each
carried a long-stemmed blue daisy.
Bridesmaids were Esther
Bullock of Alabama, sister of the
bride, Mary Bounds, sister-in-law
of the groom, and Angela Smith,
niece of the bride. They wore blue

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Haddon of
Raeford announce the engagement
of her daughter, Gloria Jean
Prevatte, to Perry Walker Russell.
Russell is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. G.W. Lambert of Jackson
ville, Florida.
The wedding is planned for Oc
tober 12 on Mount Mitchell.

Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bullock
hosted the reception in the church
fellowship hall which followed the
wedding. Tea girls were Misses
Amy Walters and Tammy Smith.
Tea boys were Todd Branch and
Jason Calloway.
On June 28 a rehearsal dinner
was hosted by the bride's family in
the church fellowship building.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Elmer Williams of
Raeford. She is a graduate of
Hoke County High School and
Pembroke State University. She is
employed by B.C. Moore & Sons.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Reba Bounds of Raeford. He
is a graduate of Hoke County High
School and Pembroke State
University. He is employed by Sky
City Stores.
After a wedding trip to the Blue
Ridge Mountains, the couple will
live in Raeford.

Dr. and Mrs. David Sutton and
Benjamin were welcomed back to
Galatia Presbyterian Church Sun
day after being away the past two
Sundays.
Dr. Sutton's sermon topic for
morning worship service was; "Go
Forth To Serve" assisted by Nancy
McNeill, Marvin Lindsay, John
Lindsay and Mrs. Sutton who had
spent a week in Atlanta, Georgia
working among the "street
people" and the underpriviledged
children in the poverty areas of
Atlanta.

Selma visited Mrs. Davis's parents

been on the sick list several weeks
having had surgery recently.
