Currie recently attended a three day reunion of the 100th Bom bardment Group of World War II. It was held in the Stouffers* Dayton Plaza in Dayton, . Ohio. The "Bloody 100th" was one of the most celebrated bomber groups stationed in England. Group members flew B-17 bombers. Approximately 750 attended the reunion. A visit to the Victory Theater to see a special presenta tion of "Some Like It Cole," a musical of Cole Porter songs, and a visit to the Air Force Museum were parts of the festivities. On Saturday night a banquet was held in the Hara Banquet Center. Maj. Gen. Peter Odgers reported on the Air Force B-l pro gram. Johnson reunion held The family of the late Walter and Hannah Johnson celebrated their ninth "Family Reunion" on Saturday, July 27, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McNair of Route 1, Raeford. Ninety-four family members traveled from New York, New Jersey, Southern Pines, and sur rounding areas to join in the festival. Personals Recent guest of Mrs. Marie Blue Lee and Mrs. Kathleen Blue Wilson were the Rev. and Mrs. Pat Wright and their daughter, Paige, of Memphis, Tennessee and Mrs. Sandy McEachern of Indianapolis, Indiana. Harry and Nancy Williamson, Melody, Meri Christi and Mark went to Florida in July for the Kel ly Reunion and then on to Dothan, Ala. for a longer visit with Harry's family. Paul and Margaret Dickson and their daughter, Mrs. Anne Fogleman, returned last week from a trip to England and Scotland. Joe and Dwan Upchurch took a European vacation in July. Mrs. Wimsey Lundy is recuperating in her son's home in Sanford. Mr. and Mrs. Henry David Smith spent several days last week at the beach. Mrs. Dorothy Shaw and Mrs. Roberta Handon returned on August 4 from a visit with Mrs. Shaw's daughter, Miss Brendila Lesliek, in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Marguerite Thomas, Mrs. Iris' Daivs, Mrs. Jane Davis and Mrs. Linda Davis went to Franklin, N.C. for a few days last week. The tabic was covered with a lace cloth made by the great grand mother of the honoree's groom. Crystal and silver were used on the table. A yellow and gree color scheme was used throughout the decoration* Wedding cake squares, an assortment of cookies, and nuts were served with a pale green punch. A special guest was the bride's godmother. The couple was married in South Carolina recently. They will be liv ing in Hoke County. Mrs. Barefoot is the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn Hess and Rick Hess. Chason family holds reunion The annual Chason Reunion was held Sunday, August 4, at Parkson High School. Sixty-five family members were present. This is the twenty-third year the reunion has been held. It was organized in 1962 by Mrs. Myrtle Sappenfield of Raeford and the late Mrs. Charlie Chason Sr. of Fayeteville. Mrs. Annieree Glisson of Hendersonville opened the meeting by reading last year's minutes. Officers for the 1986 reunion are Larry Chason of Raeford, Presi dent and Treasurer and Harold Chason of Lumber Bridge, Vice President and Secretary. Out-of-state family members who attended were Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Robins and Mrs. Sonya Truett of Columbia, Miss., and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Glisson of Danville, Va. Births Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Dean White announce the birth of a daughter, Tabitha Lynn, on July 20 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis McPhatter announce the birth of a daughter, Jennifer Nicole, on July 20 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. and Mrs. Billy King, of Raleigh, announce the birth of a daughter, Michaela Christin, on July 28 at Rex Hospital. Mrs. King is the former Julia Kicklighter.
