DWI nets
one year in jail

The 37-year-old Mclntyre was
irrested for the crime on April 6,
iccording to a citation issued the
nan.
Sentencing for the man was
leavy because he was recently con
victed in a DWI case in
Cumberland County and has a
third case still pending in Hoke
County, records say.
In other court action, a 28-year -
>ld Red Springs man, Larry
lacobs, was sentenced to 90 days
n the Hoke County Jail after be
ng convicted of assaulting a
woman.
Jacobs was found guilty of fir
ng a shotgun at Doris Carter on
\pril 14, according to warrants for
lis arrest.
A Raeford man, Charles Ed
ward Hadon, was sentenced to two
years suspended for three years on
special supervised probation, a
$500 fine and 12 weekends in jail
after being convicted of driving
while his license was revoked.
The 32-year-old Hadon was ar
rested on February 16, records
show.
According to records from the
North Carolina Department of
Motor Vehicles, Hadon has been
convicted of 26 traffic offenses.
Thurman Tubery Davis, a Red
Springs resident, was sentenced to
one year suspended for three years
on supervised probation, 20 days
in jail and fined $400 after his se
cond conviction of DWI, records
say.
Davis, 65, was arrested on
March 30, records say.
Levonia Sanders, a Raeford resi
dent, was convicted of a second
DWI offense and sentenced to one
year suspended for two years on
supervised probation, seven days
in jail and a $300 fine, records say.
The 23-year-old Sanders v as ar
rested on June 15.
William Junior Jones, a Fayet
teville man, was sentenced to 90
days in jail suspended for one year
on unsupervised probation and
fined $130 after being convicted of
DWI on March 28, according to
records.
Linton Hardy Jr., a 23-year-old
Norfolk, Va. resident, was
sentenced to 60 days in jail
suspended for one year on un
supervised probation and fined
$100 after being convicted of DWI
on June 13, records show.
Thressa McLean, a Fayetteville
resident, was given a three year
suspended sentence after being
convicted of driving while her
license was revoked, records show.
The 45-year-old woman was fin
ed $200.
Road block

oak tree fell across all of Highway 211 last Thurs
day. The tree took power lines to the ground along
with any other wiring on neighboring poles. The
afternoon the tree fell was sunny with no breeze.
Ellis speculated that the tree had been either hit by
lightning or damaged by high winds that swept the
county two weeks ago.
