I Hoke savings bond sales over $40,000 for quarter Sales of Series EE Savings Bonds in Hoke County during April-June of 1985 totalled $40,692. Total sales for the first six mon ths amounted to $75,069 according to Richard T. Jones, District Director, U.S. Savings Bonds Divi sion. April-June sales of U.S. Savings Bonds in North Carolina amounted to $17,692,398, 34.4?7? above the $13.1 million reported for the second quarter 1984. January- June sales amounted to $32,638,836, a 19.3% increase over the same period last year. This represents 56.8% of the state's dollar goal of $57,500,000. Nationally, sales in the first six months of 1985 amounted to $2.60 billion, a 23% increase over 1985. U.S. Savings Bonds redemptions of $3.05 billion for all series were 7% below the $3.28 billion redeemed during the first six months of 1984 and the lowest for any January-June period since 1973. The total value of Savings Bonds held by the public increased $415 million in June, a total of $76.69 billion.
