vqmJa/ Justice-Bundy wed On August 10 Miss Debra Lynne Bundy was married to Dane For rest Justice III. The five o'clock wedding was conducted by the Rev. T.J. Fulk in the Tabernacle Baptist Church. Candelabra filled the altar area. Three fifteen-branch and two seven-branch candelabra entwined with salah and accented with white ribbon held white tapers. Two ar rangements in wedding baskets were made of white glads, carna tions, and mums and pink glads, carnations and Gerber daisies, greenery and babies breath. Ferns and palms wre banked under the candles. The family pews were marked with nosegays, like those carried by the bridesmaids, which were tied with floor-length streamers. Wedding music was provided by Dayne Bundy, pianist. The bride, escorted by her father, wore a gown of crystaline sheer silk. Lace formed a high shadow neckline. The long fitted sleeves had a separante puff upper sleeve which was dotted with hand sewn pearls. The skirt and the ex tended train ended in layers of ruf fley ruffles topped with em broidered lace. Her tea-length veil fell from a band of sheet cyrstaline with pearls and lace. She carried a cascade of mini-carnations, lacy ribbon, diasies, lilies, fern and Engaged Mr. and Mrs. Lewis McNeill of St. Pauls announce the engage ment of their daughter, Martha Faye, to Tom Warren Goff. Miss McNeill graduated from St. Pauls High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as a pharmacist with Eckerd Drugs. Her fiance is the son of Mrs. Eve Goff of North Lauderdale, Florida, and the late Mayo Goff. The wedding is planned for September 29 at 4 p.m. in St. Pauls Presbyterian Church. Miss McNeill is the grand daughter of the late W.J. and Ad die Baker McNeill of Raeford. from Madilyn now at Howell Drug Co. Main St. Raoford. N.C. Maid of honor was Christina Whitt of Thomasville. She wore a tantaza gown of frost rose. The bodice had a dropped shoulder. The skirt was bouffont and had a short train. The dress was accented with ruffles and bows. She carried a nosegay of white and pink mini carnations, white daisies, lillies and spingari fern. Bridesmaids were Lori Pickler and Nancy Oldham of Raeford. They wore dresses and carried nosegays like those of the maid of honor. Miss Loretta Grier of Fayet teville was junior bridesmaid. Miss Jennifer Grier of Fayetteville was flowergirl. They also wore dresses in frost rose and carried nosegays. Best man was the groom's father, Dane F. Justice, Jr. Ushers were Steve Wright of Fairborn, Ohio and Joe Filipkowski of Fayetteville. Daniel Grier of Fayet teville was junior groomsman. Daryl Grier was ring bearer. The men wore smoke grey morning coats, and white carnation bouton nieres. Mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom wore corsages of white carnations with white lace bows. Raeford women attend national convention Mrs. Mary Ruth Haire and Mrs. Etta Barnes have returned from San Diego, California where they attended the 40th National Con vention of the Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life In surance Society July 21 through 25. Mrs. Haire attended the conven tion as National Delegate of the Society's N.C. Jurisdiction. The woodmen is a fraternal benefit society founded 95 years ago in Omaha, Nebraska. Today, the Society provides more than eleven bitlion dollars of life insurance protection on more than 950,000 members in 3,400 local lodges which feature frater nal, social, civic, and patriotic ac tivities. Elected delegates from 28 jurisdictions of the Society con vene every four years to review its fraternal and business affairs and report back to the membership after the convention closes. Speakers at the convention were the Honorable James E. Long, commissioner of insurance for the State of North Carolina; the Honorable Roger Hedgecock, mayor of the City of San Diego; and Raymond A. Klee, executive vice president of the National Fraternal Congress of America. Mrs. Mary Ruth Halre Woodmen National President John G. Bookout made his report to the delegates on the progress and financial status of the organization during the past four years. National directors were also elected and installed for four-year terms. The convention closed with an audiovisual presentation entitled, "Progress Through Fraternal Teamwork," in which President Bookout outlined goals to be ac complished prior to the next na tional convention in 1989. Luncheon honors debutantes Mrs. Betty Bamhart, Mrs. Elizabeth Burgess, Mrs. Mary Ar chie McNeill, Mrs. Wanda McPhaul, Mrs. Dwan Upchurch, and Mrs. Mary Upchurch were hostesses at a luncheon at the Mid Pines Country Club on Thursday, August 15 honoring local debutantes, Laura McLeod and Lisa Upchurch. Places were laid for 16 guests. A menu featuring fresh fruit salad, chicken-a-la-king and creme-de-mcnth parfaits was serv ed. The hostesses presented gold picture frames to each honoree.
