Hedgpeth appointed to post Irma Hedgpeth has been ap pointed chairman of the Hoke County Heart Association's "A Time To Remember" Committee. This is her second year serving in this position. "A Time To Remember" pro vides friends and family an oppor tunity to offer get-well wishes, honor occasions such as birthdays, graduations and anniversaries, or make a memorial through con tributions to the local Heart Association. "This program was established by the Heart Association because of the great volume of requests from Hoke County residents who wish to make a memorial donation or honor a special occasion," said Hedgpeth. "More deaths still result from heart disease, stroke and related disorders than all other causes combined," she said, "although ? ? f the mortality rate has dropped in recent years. Gifts received through the 'A Time To Remember' program will be chan neled into more research, more education and more community service programs in the Heart Association's Tight against early death and disability from heart disease and stroke," Hedgpeth said. When contributions are receiv ed, the Heart Association will send an acknowledgment card especially designed for the occasion or memorial to the person or family the donor wished to honor. 'All gifts made to the "A Time To Remember" program are tax deductible, and the amount of each gift will be kept confidential. For more information, contact Mrs. Hedgpeth at 875-3173 or write P.O.
