McCreary graduates from US AF course Airman Cassandra A. Mc Creary, daughter of Arthur W. McHeill of Holiday Street, Southern Pines, and Annie L. McHeill of Arnold Street, Aber deen, has graduated from the U.S. Air Force personnel specialist course at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. Graduates of the course learned how to prepare personnel reports and records, and earned credits toward an associate degree in ap plied science through this Com munity College of Air Force. McCreary is scheduled to serve with the 1st Combat Support Group at Langley Air Force Base, Va. She is a 1983 graduate of Pinecrest High School, Southern Pines. Nellis completes skills training Anthony W. Nellis Jr., son of Anthony W. and Ruby W. Nellis of Shannon, has completed train ing in fundamental military skills at the Army ROTC basic camp at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The basic camp is designed to give junior college graduates and college sophomores who have not taken ROTC courses the chance to enter the program. The camp also qualifies high school graduates for the ROTC program at any of the nation's six military junior col leges. During the encampment, cadets received training in basic rifle marksmanship, military drill and ceremonies, communications and individual and small unit tactics. Nellis plans to enter the ROTC program at the University of North Carolina in Wilmington. Kearns reports for Okinawa duty Marine Staff Sgt. Bobby H. Kearns, son of Mary E. Kearns of Route 3, Raeford, recently reported for duty with 3rd Force Service Support Group, on Okinawa. A 1970 graduate of Hoke Coun ty High School, he joined the Marine Corps in May 1974. Davis returns from Med. cruise Navy Seaman Apprentice An thony R. Davis, son of Helen Ivey of Donaldson Ave., Raeford j recently returned from a four-; month deployment to the Mediter-; ranean Sea while stationed aboard the submarine tender USS Fulton, homeported in New London, Con necticut. Daring this time, the Fulton pro vided maintenance for submarines of the U.S. Sixth Fleet in La Mad dalena, Italy. While deployed, the ship cruised over 11,000 miles, and making port calls in Barcelona, Spain; La Maddalena, Italy; Palma Mallor-: ca, and Bergen Norway. A 1980 graduate of Hoke Coun ty High School, he joined the Navy in April 1982. McNeill graduates from Army course Sgt. Jean D. McNeill, daughter of Thurman and Helen Davis of Buie Street, Red Springs, has graduated from the vehicle and generator mechanics course at the U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. The course provides instruction for non-commissioned officers to supervise and perform mainte nance on systems and components of light wheeled vehicles. During the 12-week course, students were also given instruc tion on power generator equip ment repair. Her husband, John, is the son of John A. and Lula M. McNeill of Brooklyn Street, Red Springs. She is a 1972 graduate of Red Springs High School. Wrench gels duty change Marine Cpl. Herbert W. Wrench, son of Shirley A. Wrench of East Seventh Street, Raeford, recently reported for duty with 3rd Force Support Group, on Okinawa.
