In Weeks To Come Announcements JAYCEES ELDERLY PROGRAM - The Raeford Jaycees, in cooperation with the Raeford Post Office, will soon begin a program to aid Hoke County elderly and handicapped citizens who live alone. Carrier Alert is a program designed to recognize when elderly and disabled persons are in medical need, and to get help to them. Any interested elderly or disabled person who lives alone and is a Hoke County resident should call Billy Norton at 875-2138, Eddie Ramsey at 875-5396 or David Tew at 875-3859, for details. Oct. 17 ANTIOCH INGATHERING - The annual Antioch Presbyterian Church Ingathering will be held at the church at 1 1 a.m. on Oct. 17. Barbecue plates will be sold. Oct. 17-19 BOUTIQUE DE NOEL ~ The third annual presentation of the popular Boutique de Noel, Oct. 17-19, at the Weymouth Center in Southern Pines. The Boutique de Nod will feature represen tatives from specialty shops in other areas who will exhibit, and offer for sale, a selection of their finest wares for Christmas shoppers. The Boutique de Noel will open with a preview party on the evening of October 17, when invited guests will have an opportunity to see what will be opened to the public the next day. Special luncheons will be served at Weymouth Center between 11:30-1:30 and Tea, between 2-4:30 will be available for the shoppers on October 17-19.. COLON SCREENING - Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Raeford will offer their 5th National Colon-Rectal Cancer Screening Oct. 17-19. In the past four years, more than 500,000 people pick ed up free colon-rectal cancer take-home test kits. The test kits can detect hidden blood in the stool, an early warning sign of this cancer and intestinal disorders. PRISON ART SHOW -- The Ninth Annual Prison Art Show will be held at Cross Creek Mall in Fayetteville on Oct. 17, 18 and 19. The event is sponsored by McCain Prison. Oct. 17-26 MY FAIR LADY -- Casting is complete and rehearsals underway for The Campbell Players fall production of Lerner and Loewes' classical musical, "My Fair Lady." The show will run on Oct. 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 at 8 p.m. and on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. The 26th has been designated as the annually held Parents Day. Nov. 2 FAMILY FUN DAY -- On Saturday, Nov. 2, the friends of the Hoke County Indian Education Program will sponsor a Family Fun Day at South Hoke School. This event will begin around noon and go until! Special activities will be planned for all age groups, so everybody is invited to attend this very special day. Also on the agenda for the day will be free food and a gospel singing. Nov. 6 BENEFIT GOSPEL SING - A Gospel Sing will be held at the J.W. Turlington School to benefit Clarence Batten on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. The program will feature the Victory Singers of Raeford, the Liberty Quartet of Fayetteville and the Lighthouse Boys of Cameron. Door prizes will be given and a love offering will be taken.
