Miss Lisa Caulder was married
to Jeffery Goodman on Saturday,
October 12, in the Raeford Church
of God. The Rev. B.V. Childers
officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Carson Caulder of
Raeford. She graduated from
Hoke High School and is
employed by the Hoke County
School System.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carlos Goodman Sr. of
Raeford. He is employed by Par
rish Sign and Service, Inc.
Donnie Goodman provided
wedding music. Mrs. Cheryl
Gilmore sang "If" and "You
Light Up My Life."
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a dacron organza
gown with a beaded chantilly lace

Miss Lisa Caulder was honored
with a linen shower on September
30 at the home of Mrs. Philas
Johnson. Hostesses were Mrs.
Johnson, Mrs. Ted Smith and
Mrs. David McNeill.
A corsage of pink carnations
and babies breath was given to
Miss Caulder when she arrived.
The refreshment table was
covered with a lace cloth over pink
and held an arrangement of pink
and purple flowers. Guests were
served finger foods, cheese
biscuits, mints, cake and punch.
The bride's table was covered
with a white cloth and had a floral
arrangement of blue and green.
Miss Caulder's name was incor
rect in last week's News- Journal.

The full Victorian sleeves extended
to a ruffle at the wrist. The ruffled
hemline flowed into a chapel train.
She carried a bouquet of white,
pink, and lavendar carnations with
babies' breath.
Mrs. Debra Edwards of Aber
deen, sister of the bride, was
matron of honor. She wore a gown
of lavendar matte taffeta which
featured a brush train with a pick
up. Her bouquet was of lavendar
gladiolas. She wore babies' breath
in her hair.
The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Robin Thompkins, Mrs. Karen
Girton and Miss Angela Hargrove,
all of Raeford. Their dresses were
of rose and styled like that of the
matron of honor. Their bouquets
were of pink gladiolas.
Miss Elizabeth Killis, neice of
the bride was flower girl. She was
dressed like the matron of honor
and carried a basket of rose petals.
The groom's father was best
man. Ushers were Carlos Good
man Jr., James Carlton Goodman,
Ronnie Goodman and Glen Gir
ton. The groomsmen wore gray
tuxedos with pink rose bud
boutonnieres. The groom wore
white formal attire with tails.
A wedding reception was given
by the bride's parents at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Hank Richards,
701 North Main Street.
The groom's family hosted a
rehearsal dinner on October 1 1 at
the Wagon Wheel Restaurant.
After a wedding trip to Orlando,
Florida, the couple will live in
Raeford.
PRE-NUPTIALS
A covered-dish supper was given
to honor Miss Caulder and Mr.
Goodman on Friday, October 4, in
the fellowship hall of the Raeford
Church of God.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNeill
were entertained on October 12, in
honor of their 25th wedding an
niversary at the Wayside Com
munity House. Mr. and Mrs.
McNeill were married October 15,
1960 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The party was hosted by their
daughters, Susan and Nancy
McNeill.

On October 20, the Lumber
Bridge Presbyterian Church held
their twenty-sixth annual
Homecoming.
The Reverend William T. Wing,
III, Pastor of Parkton
Presbyterian Church, was guest
minister.
A warm welcome was extended
to the guests by D.G. Malloy, III
and, the Response was given by
W.G. Marley, Jr. of Raleigh.
The church was filled with
members, former members,
visitors and friends. Following the
service, church members and
guests enjoyed the beautiful well
filled tables of food served in the
fellowship hall.
