The Sandy Grove Methodist
Church had a good turnout for the
bazaar Saturday even though the
weather was bad.
The Lighthouse Boys Quartette
of Cameron, North Carolina have
just returned from Plank City,
Florida where they were in com
petition with thirty quartettes.
Larry Chason, who sings with the
group, was happy to report -they
came in 6th place.
They also appear on T. V. Chan
nel 16, Burlington, (T.C.T.) Total
. Christian Television program, the
second Thursday of each month at
7:30 p.m.

Revival began at Rockfish
Tabernacle Baptist Church Sunday
night, Rev. James Pardue, Pastor
at First Baptist Church in Clinton
is guest speaker. There was a "Pot
Luck" supper in the Fellowship
Hall of the church prior to the
worship service Monday night.
The Bible Study group met
Tuesday morning at the home of
Mrs. Louise Sanders.
The 5th and 6th grade Sunday
School class plan a trip to Raven
Rock Saturday.
Saturday at 7:00 p.m. some of
the woman will attend a Mission
Fest at Village Drive Baptist
Church.

days last week with Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur Watson at their new home
on Kure Beach.

Mrs. Louise Watson spent
several days last week with her
sister, Mrs. Alma Parker in Selma.
Mrs. Herman Koonce who has
been on the sick list the past two
weeks is much better at this report.
Mrs. A.L. McCullock who has
been on the sick list for several
weeks is improving also.
Lawrence Barnard is on the sick
list.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shuman of
Orlando, Florida spent several
days recently with her sister, Mrs.
Thomas McCall and Mr. McCall.

Lumber Bridge News

Homecoming and 150th An
niversary Celebration of the
Lumber Bridge Baptist Church
were held Sunday and were well at
tended by friends and former
members. '
Guest minister, the Dr. Jerry
Wallace, Provost of Campbell
University, the Reverend and Mrs.
W.C. Bumgarner of Asheville were
present - Rev. Bumgarner, a
former pastor - 1957-1959.
Special Music - "Amazing
Graze" by Steve F. Ammons.
History of the church was given by
Miss Verna McGougan.
Following the service, church
members and guests enjoyed the
bountiful picnic lunch in the
Fellowship Hall.

On Thursday evening, October
24, the Robeson Baptist Associa
tion met with the Lumber Bridge
Baptist Church.
The attendance was excellent, as
the church was filled to capacity.
Prior to the evening meeting
refreshments were served in the
Fellowship Hall.

Dr. D.E. Ward, surgeon of
Southeastern General Hospital,
Lumberton, will be the speaker for
Foreign Missions at the Baptist
Church.
Dr. Ward will talk about his ex
perience in a Nigerian Hospital,
also what Baptist are doing in this
area. A covered dish supper at 6:30
p.m. in Fellowship Hall and
followed by the message by Dr.
Ward.
