Green, who is chairman of the NC Elks Drug Awareness pro gram, made the comment during an address to students urging them not to get mixed up with drugs. For two years the former agent had been paralized from the waist down as the result of injuries he received during a drug bust. Green now walks aided by a cane. The junior high school was just one of many stops for Green who travels across the country free of charge speaking to students about the dangers of drugs. Later that afternoon, he spoke to 400 6th graders at Turlington School. "I try to give the students an in sight into the insanity of the drug world," said Green. Green's speech to the students was filled with stories about his days as a drug agent and facts about drugs. He warned students that travel ing in a car with one and one-half ounces of marijuana is a felony and that the vehicle containing the drugs would become the perma nent property of the federal government if it were to be stopped by authorities. Green explained that alcohol is water soluable and will pass through the body in a short time. But THC, a chemical found in piarijuana, will remain in the fatty tissues of the body because it is fat soluable. "What you do with your body now will affect you for the rest of your life," he said.
