Maxton man sentenced for DWI k Maxton man was sentenced to jail and fined last week in Hoke District Court after he was con victed of charges stemming from a driving while impaired (DW1) ar rest. Guy Lambert, Rt. 2, Maxton, was arrested during the early morning hours of September 18 and charged with DW1, resisting arrest and operating a vehicle without due caution, records show. Records say Lambert, 53, jumped from his 1973 Dodge while Alcohol Law Enforcement Officer Richard Thornell was attempting to arrest him on a careless and reckless driving charge. Lambert pleaded guilty to the three charges, records show. For the DWI charge, Lambert was sentenced to one year suspend ed for three years, fined $500 and court costs. Lambert was also ordered to surrender his driver's license and, as a special term of probation, he is to serve an active prison term of 30 days. The resisting arrest and reckless driving charges were consolidated for judgement and Lambert was sentenced to one year suspended for three years and was ordered to pay a fine of $100, records show. In an unrelated case, James William Hendricks, 21st CML Co., Fort Bragg, was found guilty of DWI, records show. Hendricks, 21, was arrested on US 401 near Bethel at 4:35 a.m. on '' Saturday, August 31. Records say Hendricks was sentenced to 60 days suspended for one year and ordered to pay a $100 fine. Hendricks was also ordered to surrender his driver's license, at tend Alcohol and Drug Traffic School (ADET) and perform 24 hours of community service, records indicate. Robert Allen Morrisey, 956 Wall McLean Road, Raeford, pleaded guilty to a DWI charge, records show. According to records, Morrisey, 28, was arrested at 2:55, a.m. in Raeford on October 9. Morrisey was sentenced to one year suspended for two years and fined $200. > As a special term of probation, Morrisey was ordered to'serve an active prison term of seven days. Morrisey was also ordered to surrender his driver's license and attend ADET school, records say. Charles Hearson Locklear, P.O. Box 845, Aberdeen also pleaded guilty to a DW1 charge, records say. Locklear, 16, was arrested Thursday, October 24 on U.S. 401 in the vicinity of Wagram. Locklear was sentenced to 60 days suspended for one year and given a S100 fine, records indicate. Records also say Locklear was ordered to surrender his license, at tend ADET school and perform 24 hours of community service. Carolyn McDonald Dockery, Rt. 1, Box 112, Raeford, pleaded guilty to DWI, records say. Dockery, 21, was sentenced to 90 days suspended for one year, fined $125, and was ordered to sur render her driver's license. According to records, she was also ordered to attend ADET school and perform 24 hours of community service. Larry Donnell McClean, 31, Rt. 1, Red Springs, pleaded guilty to charges of DWI and driving without a license, records say. McClean was sentenced to 6 months suspended for two years and fined $200, records say. He was also ordered to perform 72 hours of community service, records indicate. Records say Mack Ray Williams, P.O. Box 1234, Rae ford, pleaded guilty to a charge of DWI. Williams, 28, was arrested on Friday, September 13, according to records. Williams was sentenced to not less than 18 months and not more than 24 months suspended for three years, records say. Records show that Williams was fined $250 , and as a special condi tion of probation is to serve an ac tive prison term of 14 days. Also in District Court, Leroy McLaughlin, Rt. I, Box 150, Raeford, pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing marijuana. Records say McLaughlin, 21, was ordered to pay a fine of $150. Larry Dean Locklear, P.O. Box 217, Shannon, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving while his driver's license was revoked. Reaves, 24, was sentenced to not less than six months and not more than 9 months suspended for three years. She was ordered to pay a fine of $250, according to court records. Larry Hemphill, 5726 Cold Har bor Drive was found guilty on charges of DWI and driving without iLlicense, records show. Hemphill, 38, was sentenced to a prison term of two years, records show. Records indicate that Hemphill appealed his case. Harold Hardin, 4409 Pine springs Drive, Fayetteville, plead ed guilty to a charge of driving while his license was revoked, records say. Hardin, 33, was sentenced to not less than 9 months, not more than 12 months, suspended for three years and fined $400, records in dicate. Stephen William Sassak, 306 Smithfield Road, Fayetteville, pleaded guilty to a charge of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana, records indicate. Sassak, 21, was sentenced to 30 days suspended upon payment of a $50 fine. Todd Joseph Champagne, 150 Dakota Drive, Raeford, pleaded guilty to a charge of throwing a beer can on the highway on Oc tober 14, records say. Champagne was ordered to pay court costs and take his beer cans to the nearest dumpster, record in dicate. Beatrice McDonald, 216 Highland Village, Laurinburg, pleaded guilty to a charge of steal ing 2 bottles of nail polish, records say. Court records show that McDonald, 20, was sentenced to not less than 6 months and not more than 9 months suspended upon payment of a $50 fine. Money stolen from store (Continued from page 1A) Locklear, according to the report, had charges pending in Superior Court from previous ar rests for charges brought in a July investigation. Locklear was released Monday from Hoke County Jail on a $50,000 bond. In an unrelated case, approx imately $1,500 was reported stolen out of the cash register at Ashley Heights Texaco sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday and 6:25 a.m. Friday, according to a Sheriff's Department report. The break-in was discovered by J. P. Pickler when he opened the store on Highway 211 at approx imately 6:20 a.m.. the report says. Deputies Wayne Gardner and John Rilev were show n w here glass had been broken to the door to the garage by Marshall Parks, the report says. In another incident, Gregory Thomas McGee reported that $1,800 in cash was missing from his mobile home located in Old Trail Mobile Home Park, Raeford, records indicate. McGee reported that someone had pried open the door of his mobile home and taken a box covered with green velvet that vsas left on a dresser in the end bedroom. The report says the money (in $100 and $50 bills) was inside the box. McGee says he noticed the money was missing sometime be tween Saturday, December 7, and Tuesday, December 10, according to sheriff's department records. Also, reports indicate that glass was shot out of the front window of Southeast Farm Equipment, Highway 20, Lumber Bridge, at 3:30 Friday afternoon. The sheriff's department report says dispatcher Gary Lowe told law enforcement officers the front door glass suddenly cracked and fell out of the door. Lowe also said he heard a gun shot while a one-ton blue truck was passing by, the report states. In another incident, Charles McMillon reported to the sheriff's department that a chain saw was stolen out of his mobile home located behind DOT near Rt. 3. In the report, McMillon says a window had been pushed out of the back door and the door open ed. McMillon said he noticed the chainsaw "was missing sometime between 4:30 and 6:15 p.m. on Fri day. Also, Edsel Locklear, Rt. 1, Box 117 Shannon, reported to the sheriff's department that he notic cd $400 missing from his wallet last Sunday. The sheriff's department report says Locklear was with several of his friends at Cousins Country Club on Highway 211 when he noticed the money was missing at approximately 2:30 a.m. Raeford Police Chief Leonard Wiggins reports that numerous items were discovered missing last Monday from three mobile homes at Andy Anderson Mobile Home Park on Highway 401 Bypass. Missing were two lamps and an AM-FM system valued at approx imately S240. The items were apparently stolen sometime during the weekend, ac cording to Wiggins. A juvenile shoplifter was ar rested Saturday and charged with stealing $18.50 worth of fingernail polish and cologne from B.C. Moore's and Sons at Edenborough Shopping Center, Wiggins said. The suspect was turned over_to juvenile authorities. A 1982 Datsun truck, belonging to David M. Deaton, was stolen at approximately 2:50 a.m. Saturday when the vehicle was parked at 424 W.
