During the early days of this week a committee of ladies will visit the homes of ReidsviUe citizens and as certain the number of guests that each home is willing to entertain during the Confarence. After looking over the list below, many persons will, doubt less, desire to choose certain particu lar persons as their guests. If the names of these selected persons ard given to the committee, when it comes to your house, Pastor Lambeth says that he will see that such assignments are made. If a certain person is, however, requested by more than one party, the one making the request first will receive that guest. ET FROM Ti 1 BOARD CITY LOCAL NEWS IN A CONDENSED FORM At the special meeting of the town commissioners held Thursday night the board voted to appropriate $300 per year, payable quarterly, for ad vertising purposes to be used under the direction of the Commercial and Agriculiral Association.-The associa tion had asked for an appropriation of $1,000, but the commissioners decided that the state of the town'a finances would nut allow a larger appropriation at this time. While this is quite a dis appointment to the officers and mem-, bers of the association, it is better than no help at all, and the directors should get busy at once and employ a competent secretary who will vig orously carry on the work of the or ganization without fuither interrup tion. Now is the. time of the year jhat the association can get in some of us most useful work. THE NEWS IN BRIEF SINCE OUR LAST ISSUE R. C. Hood, a prominent citizen of Greensboro, accidentally shot and kill ed himself while out hunting Saturday. A continuation of the progress of the Teutons 'and Bulgarians against Serbia; fresh advances by the Ger mans in Northwest Russia and the sinking of a, German armored cruiser by a British submarine in the Baltic Sea, are the outstanding ftatures in the world war, as reported in the la test official communication.
