COINER Phone 1011, WRIGHT UILBINfl Bmii U1 ESCCURS, 28, pe7 f V ILL NI E A FIGHT Some of Them Declare That They Will Have a Good " Chance f l 1 That the democratic ticket which was nominated today week will have opposition is the statement made by some of those who are not members oi the democratic household of the county.. The progressives and Mull Moosers and the out and out republi cans,' have never seen fit to change their faith, the men who voted foi lflosevelt and the men who voted foi Tuft in the election sometime ago now appear of one accord. ' Jl They have one opinion, and that ml that the recent primary in Durham has stirred up some interestin gdem ocratic history, which if used in the campaign as they say they will use it will put an end to the democratic administration in Durham county. The opposition to the present ad ministration of county affairs declare that ' they did not have the opportun ity to find out the official short-comi ngs of the democrats till they got in to a scrap among themselves. Then, for the sake of getting votes, the deni ocratic friends of- orte candidate told tales out of school on the other can didates. Just how much the republi cans or progressives, know, and jjusl j What threyknowis amatter they J have not yet seen fit to divulge, bul ) intimate that in the "fullness of time' J whenever that is, they will tell the people of the political short-comings of the ticket that has been named tc run on the democratic platform in the November elections. At the present tmie the republicans have issued no call for the county con vention, .or taken any steps towards putting out a ticket or starting a cam paign. They believe that it will be best . to make a whirlwind campaign of il in September or a little earlier pos tfibly rather than nominate their ticket Jiiow and do a lot of talking before M the Actual fight comes off. The republicans declare that not enough of their number took part in nit) ueinocrauc primary to effect the party strength, and that some oi those who by this act joined the dem ocratic party are a happy riddance to their side. The republicans say that there is a rather general demand foi a change in the officials at the court house, and that since this change was not provided for by the democrats it will be up to th erepublicans to put new life into the political body of the county by getting an official in the court house. Already it is known some of the leaders of the party have been think ing about candidates, but when an inquisitive reported asked about the probable personel of the ticket, or nuuic oi uie more imnnrt.int nil. t yiuijCO tho ticket, the gentlemen skit id . that was nnnthpr !, .i.ii. . -" ewuilll I wuum come out in due NORFOLK JULY conduoted by L.
