pleted returns show Ehringhaus
leading both of his opponents with
Maxwell trailing Fountain. The
Elizabeth City lawyer was 50,000
votes ahead Wednesday, having re
ceived a total of 165,94 2. Fountain
polled 113,112, while Maxwell was
low mari with 100,875. The total
vote cast in the primary as tabulated
to date is 379,929, breaking all pre

half way. However, the action of
those who have plainly shown, by
refusing bank mall, to acknowledge
their obligations, means, to his mind,
that when they secured money from
the institution before it closed, they
had no intention of paying it back.
"It simply means that we shall take
out judgment proceedings against
them, and that we won't waste any
time about doing it."
In discussing the financial state
ments, Mr. Spradlln stated that it
was very important that he be
furnished with these. He said that
by filling out the blanks, the debt
or not only helped the bank, but
helped himself, for in many in
stances the receiver has been able
to assist those in an apparently fi
nancial chaos to a more firm finan
cial standing.
In conclusidn, the receiver stated
that those debtors who are making
no effort to co-operate with him are
sot only delaying liquidation but are
lenghtening materially the time be
fore a dividend can be paid.
