JUDGE CONTINUES RESTRAINING ORDER Suit Pending In Surry Court To Oust Primi tive Baptist Preacher In a hearing at the Forsyth coun ty courthouse at Winston-Salem last Thursday, Judge John H. Clement ■ ordered the restraining order against Elder O. C. Dunbar, restraining him from holding services in the Union Primitive Baptist church of this county, continued until the case is heard in Surry superior court. The hearing was held on a peti tion to dismiss the restraining order originally entered in the case. It was sometime ago that charges were filed in Surry superior court asking a permanent restraining order to prevent Elder Dunbar from hold ing services in the Union Primitive Baptist church. The suit grew out of a church conference in which El der Dunbar, then assistant pastor of the church, was excluded as a mem ber of the congregation, his license to preach revoked and ordered not to hold further services in the church. The restraining order, ori ginally, was signed since Elder Dun bar is alleged to have persisted in holding services in the church. Charges preferred against Elder Dunbar were to the- effect that he had caused a disturbance and disor der in the church for sometime. He was alleged by the church to have withdrawn from fellowship with the church association and from all the 18 churches of the association with the exception of two, the State Road and Laurel Springs Primitive Bap tist churches. The suit pending in Surry super ior court was brought by Elder J. W. Creed, the regular pastor of the church, on behalf of the alleged ma jority of the congregation. Doughton and Thurmond News Rev.
